I know there are some great minds out there that can confirm this for me...
After cresting the T5 hill and while approaching T6, there is a crack that spans the width of the track and was repaired with some grey colored filler this year. The google earth image preceeds the repair, can you confirm if this is crack A or crack B.
Playing with my GPS logger, trying to figure out how well I'm using this RP.
Thanks.
Marc, there are 2 cracks that almost trisect the width of the track. I stay 2/3 of the way to the right between the two and you run right over a short crack just before the tip in point.
(thanks to Gino for that tip)
It seems to be a pretty fast line into the bowl. Lou was following me on 9/27 and he said it seemed to be a better line than he was using.
I really should get some reference points. maybe I'll get faster if I actually pick some out.

Thanks Lou!
I just added that crack RP as a "split" in the QRacing software and click the picture to see what I got.
The good news, my speed peeks at the brake RP. The bad, I stopped rolling-on the throttle as I try to find the crack -- I had no illusion that my work was done.

Yeah but it's one thing to hear where the points are, and another to be able to actually start using them! I don't know about Brett, but for me practice is like shaking off the cob webs, and the race is just trying to survive (go as fast as possible w/out crashing) and finish the race hopefully ahead of some dudes! For me, ref. pts. is going to be a seat time type of thing where I'll actually start remembering and learning those little details. For example, this thread is talking about 2 cracks that I've never paid any attention to this entire season... but maybe another 100 laps and I'll start noticing and using them. It's a good topic for the forum and I like reading about where the other guys are going on the track. It's gonna be big for me next season to start putting this into practice.

Does the data system indicate when you will see God? That's when you really need to brake. :p
I back off a little when I see God jumping out of the way.

I have some reference points but no where near as many as people say you should have. And a lot of them I need to be out there riding, I can't tell anyone most of them of the top of my head. I go mostly on judging distances.

Yup.
Several track walks with different leaders will point out things in the track that you had no idea about. I know Gino pointed out things that I never would have seen otherwise.
you were looking good out there Marc! I hope the track walk helped!

Keith, those 10-20 seconds during the track walk when you talked about T6 RPs really changed that corner for me. Thanks!
When entering the braking zone and picking off a distant object (ie. T6 apex cone), it minimizes anxiety and the chances of expressing that anxiety to the brake lever (over braking). It took most of the day to break my old habit in T6 and picked-up more speed.
My RPs always moved forward around the track, but T6 might be one place that after heavy braking my RP needs to move from the apex cone to a closer RP. In particular, to apply the "2 trisecting cracks" that Chuck/Gino mentioned earlier.
