Noobert here,
I'm going to be at Loudon for Penguin next Friday. I've got the bike and gear all ready, but exactly what do I do when I get to the gates???? I've never been there so I have no idea where to go/park etc. Are there signs directing you to the appropriate areas? Are there vending/restroom areas all around the place?
Will I need to bring fold up chairs, or are there areas to kick back?
I haven't stressed a bit about this, but now I'm biting nails about getting there and not being a total tool once I do.
Any helpful insight is greatly appreciated!
Oh yeah....since I haven't thrown enough questions at you....besides tool, spare parts, drinks/food what else are must haves?
I spent all of last season wishing I remembered a fold up chair. The one weekend I brought it, I didn't use it. I have no explanation, but I'd bring one.
Aside from your must-have list, $ and/or c.c. I always spend more than I plan.
There's the checkered flag cafe for real food, and a drink vending machine. No clue if the checkered is open on Friday. I think most people stock up on the way there. I hit the Shell for race gas, snacks, beverages and ice.
Are you staying and racing or just penguin and back home?
There are 2 sets of bathrooms in the infield. It's plenty.
For garages/parking, penguin takes care of you. For staying/racing it gets a bit more complicated.
Try to plan right, but don't panic. You're unlikely to run into a problem $ or a c.c. can't fix, but something like "forgot my helmet" isn't a cheap fix![]()

I will be arriving at Thursday night at 6 PM. You can hook up with me and I will make sure you are at the right places at the right times. You can find me at Turn 12 or Garage 22 North or at Street and Competition. Street and Comp is a parts/tire vendor trailer which you will get to know eventually. I have done this for new racers/trackdayers many a time. My way of giving back to what others have given me. PM me and I will give you my cell #.

I'll be in the Pirelli garage, North 26. If you run into any questions while you're there, feel free to stop by and ask. You'll find that everyone up there is pretty friendly, and willing to answer a question if you're looking for something.
When you go through the front gate, you'll want to drive through the tunnel, then basically follow the access road until you get to the second garage area(can't really go any further). You'll see the Penguin box truck parked outside the garage you'll need to go to for Penguin school.

Thanks for all the input guys!! Look forward to meeting you all!
I can't believe no one said it. very first thing is to stop at the gate and go to the last window at the ticket booth to sign the waiver.
