CVR is a brand new track out in the middle of no-where desert of California between Palm Springs and Blythe off of RT 10.
And its awesome.
40 ft wide, over 2 miles long, 16 turns, multiple elevation changes, long linked corners (righties and lefties) and a section of banking which they call "Mini-Daytona"...and, no facilities.
They just completed Phase 1 of the build and thank goodness the track is bad ass, because when I was there on Sat last weekend at 105 with 20 mph winds I could have cared less about where I was going to sleep that night.
It reminded me a lot of NJMP is terms of how flowing and smooth the track was, and how open. But its much more technical than NJ, and not as fast. It has more small straights where you can break 115 easy (if you have the nut to brake just as hard) but the front straight is very short.
I am working out in Tucson for the summer and of course, was looking for a track to get to, a bike to borrow, anything. The first weekend I am here I find out that one of my co-workers just bought an Aprilia RS 125 and is heading to another new track about an hour away called INDE Motor Sports Park. I end up going with him, and corner working for the TD Org. Take It 2 the Track, and earn myself a free TD!!!!
But how am I gonna use it?
I got no bike, I got no truck, and how will I be able to line those 2 big unknowns up for a TD weekend?
Enter Brad from Xtrememotorcyclerental.com, who shows up with a track prepped 848 with Michelins best slick front and a brand new PP rear + gas, warmers, easy-up, table, cars, etc. The whole kit and kabootle!
Next thing I know I am driving 5 hours out into the California Desert searching for this track, and this is what happened...
I want to go back...and what I really want to do is come home and ride NHMS! But, I'll take what I can get. I only had one "whoopsie" after lunch where I misjudged a sharp left and had to check out the quality of the run-off. No worries.
If you're out West and get a chance. I highly recommend you take it and check out this track. It's awesome!

Why on earth would you want to come home and ride shitty NHMS when you can run that instead, possibly even all year round???

Sweet! Chuckwalla is like 3 hours from me. Looking fwd to getting out there at some point. Thanks for the ride report.
How do you think a motard would fair? You mentioned it doesn't have really any big straights...
Boston --> San Diego
I've got some friends in SD who've been to CVR a few times and they say it rocks!!
I'll get my taste of it in the fall as it's just to damm hot out there until September.

saw the pics on FB and looked awesome. I'm certainly jealous of you.
Cause Loudon has character, and is very difficult to ride. And hopefully I'll get to see how it is to race this summer too. Its my home track, we have history together
The closet thing to a Motard out there when I went was a Streetfighter...however, a SuMo would rock some socks at that track. The banking would be instense!! And T9/10 which is a blind downhill left into a late apex right would be a good challenge.
I hope I get a chance to go back, its a lot of fun. And Ti2TT is a great group of people to ride with.

Wow! Its great to see you having an absolute blast out there man! Slicks? that musta been niiice... That track looks soooo smooth.. i may have to road trip....
Yea bro, slick front. PP rear. Not that I was pushing wicked hard, but the front was unflappable, I had a couple mid corner adjustments, and some iffy throttle control during the morning, and the tires didn't talk back at all. Amazing. The bike was pretty gosh darn good too!

California Photography was the group shooting photo's and they did a great job...I got 71 pics for $45! And they were all sequenced shots. This is my favorite sequence hands down. Last corner, around 2 in the afternoon when I was getting some consistent laps and speeds. Felt great!

I kept telling myself thats a Duc man!.. not chip![]()
I know Chip was at that day as I saw his pics posted on the cali site and he rides a yellow Triumph. Another friend was there with his Tard and says it's perfect. The straignt isn't to long that you ping the limiter and the sweepers let you carry tons of speed.

Just found out that there is a track just east of you called Inde motorsports park or something. Looks like fun.
