    Your'e welcome.

At the Pirelli meeting this year in Utah, Scottie and I pressured Pirelli hard for a 160 rear in the new tire. I don't know if we were instrumental in influencing the decision but they did take note at the time. We said you MUST produce this in a 160 and they were somewhat surprised but said they would look into it.

Well, the "youre welcome" was a bit tongue in cheek. They asked us what we needed in the new tire and we said the US market NEEDS a 160 in the new DCIII replacement. Maybe we influenced them in some way as we put the idea in the heads of the guys from Italy. I don't think they were considering it before we told them demand would be high. They don't get so many smaller bikes at the trackdays in europe.

I heard if it's not a ROAD race, then they won't try it with anything less than a busa... They're working on a spec race with zx-14's in Britain right now.

For racing, the dragon would be the tire to use. The new tire is a trackday tire.

so this new tire is a street/trackday tire? is it something recommended for wet tracks that might be a little too dry for rains?

Good news for track day riders!

Degs, is there anything up Pirelli's sleeve for race tires in 2010 or are things remaining the same with the Diablos?

A little healthy competition. Glad to see us SV riders have great tire choices.

It could also be in support of the number of sumo's out there that run a 160 tire...

Great news either way, my tire choices just got better

So... any word on a 140 rear sized for 3.5" rims? Kawi cup on the west coast, WERA's got their two fiddy cup, and we've got PTwins on the east coast... Bridgestone's got the only options in the BT090 and BT003RS. Pirelli already makes a fabulous 110 front, just need the 140 rear to complete the set.

The Corsa III will remain available for awhile, there's a TON of them out there, it would take some time for Pirelli to sell them down, even if they stopped producing them now.

This new tire should be pretty sweet. I haven't seen one yet, but they've been talking about it for a LONG time. First mention I heard of it was February 07, at a national CG meeting. Even then they saw an obvious hole where the 160 rear was, as the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT was already available in that size.
