What a fricken hoot. Great people, great track, great 80 degree and sunny days.
I felt great out there, and after having a pretty bad time last year this was a complete 100% opposite. I rode the drz and had no problems rippin through the beg group and was passing with ease - despite the fact that guys on thumertalk told me they may not let me ride the drz cause of how slow it is! HA!
I also took the 1098s out cause of all the peer pressure. The bike was all I could have expected it to be. Just loved it. Here are a couple of the better pics. Knee never quite got down, but was about as close as possible....

Glad you had fun. That is an awesome track, isn't it?
You passed people on the DRZ? I was in the intermediate group, and the only bikes I passed all day were EX500s. I must suck worse than I thought.
I did not see any EX's there....In terms of the straights it was no problem for me. I saw 96 mph on my speedo which reads low, probably more like 105. However I really was only getting passed on the straight by the same 2 or 3 peeps. Again, things are diff in the groups. In the intermediate or advanced group I would have been passed on the straight by everyone.....

Nice Manny...glad you ended up bringing the 1098s. I knew you'd have fun with that. I'll give you a call so I can get caught up...got your message early this morn with no time to call today. Next year we'll engineer a track day or two together. Maybe Schwantz? Ride Sunday...will call.

BTW Manny, that Ducati looks mean on the track.![]()
[QUOTE=Manny;425500][QUOTE=bostongixxer;425348]Gay? Talk to me about gay after you come over the hill at T12...or as you are setting yourself up for 10A after the back straight. Road Atlanta is an amazing track. That said...I will plan on a VIR trip next year. But leave the DRZ at home.

By day two of this trip I was dragging pegs and knees and my confidence level was pretty high , but having an almost new cbr600rr helped immensely.
I really took my riding to the next level
Best part of the trip was riding with dennis , degs and our friend peter on his zx10r with all four of us taking turns to lead, pure unadulterated motorycling joy..
Dennis is very fast and degsy is in a league of his own as that boy can flat out ride
eat me
Don't worry, HBerry was there too with his awful body position and slow slowness.
Next year he works to improve his body position greatly on day one, and hopefully with the improvements go much faster on day two.
