hey guys,
just found out that theres a track near me here at school. Anyone been to beaver run in PA? if so how was it and who did you go through? i found sport bike track time and team motion pro.
I have ridden Beaver Run a few times. It's a fun track to ride so make sure to do a few track days on it. It can get a bit boring after a bit though.
It has two fairly long straights that require a powerful bike to truly enjoy. It also was starting to get some pretty big ripples in the pavement at the slight left kink in the back straight. Those ripples were very unsettling while WOT and dipping it to the left while feeling the bike trying to skip to the outside of the turn.
It has a fun tight somewhat technical section after the front straight that is a blast. Along with a big uphill right hand carousel after the back straight. Complete knee puck destroyingly FUN.
It had camping there when I went and like 4 garages you could rent if you wanted. The facilities (showers & bathrooms) are decent and were clean enough for me. Just be prepared to camp and set up on grass for your equipment.
I would say ride it. If its close you'd be silly not to have some fun on it.

Great track! Pretty fast! Watch yourself going over the hill...turns 3-5 I think! Sweet that it's close to you...NESBA does a bunch o' track days there.

Never ran it, but I'd like to... But, FWIW, I've run with STT's southern outfit, and they were a well-run show.
I haven't ridden it since the first few years it was opened, but it was a pretty fun track. Before the back straight is a great blnd turn (7 I think that goes over a hill where a lot of people back off so it's a great place to pass. Even then there were some ripples in the track at the beginning of the front straight as you crest a hill full throttle that can give you some head shake, so watch yourself.
ill be riding an ex500....... dont think ill be needing a damper
i might hit up the beave' at some point.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Catch,
I've done a number trackdays at BeaveRun and enjoyed them all. In fact, my first track experience was there, as was my first crash (not the same instance). Great to have a track so close to the city. Did formal events there with Sportbiketracktime, which were very good.
But the best part of my time there was the "investor lapping days." Mike Milan, who (at least in 2006-2007) spearheads the efforts to find investors for a new/extended track at Beaver, would semi-regularly contact folks in the local sportbike community (steelcityriders.com, etc.) for inexpensive, sparsely-populated open lapping days with only experienced riders. I have no idea if this is still going on.
