My old man likes to drive up to some of the trackdays I go to, how's Palmer for spectators? I'm guessing with all the trees and all that elevation there probably isn't a spot that overlooks a lot of the track?

there are a few spots that aren't too bad i wouldn't want to make a day of it
That's for sure. Spectating is bunk at Palmer. The only spot where I saw people was on the other side of the wall on the main straight.

Roger that, good to know. I'm guessing he'll still come up to check out the track (I'm trying to convince him to sign up for it actually...), but I'll let him know there aren't great places for him to watch.

Palmer's an a hour and a half away from me. I wouldn't have my girlfriend or parents make the drive to spectate. The only spot I saw people watching was near the straight and on turn 2 I think it was. If your drive isnt far it might be worth it.

He should definitely check out the Non sportbike day... it is very laid back, mostly older folks. If he doesn't ride, at least have him stop by and check it out.
Non Sportbike Track Days
Yeah, the non-sportbike day is a LEGIT street ride on a closed course. I can't think of a safer way to have an epic day of riding.
If your mom lets him ride on the street I guarantee she'd let him go if she saw how laid back a day it is.
