Was hoping to spend most of the weekend at the track. Now working Sat and a good part of Sunday. Can't even get my bike to the track early now If you see a dude pushing a triumph looking for a free spot in the garage Monday morning, feel free to point and laugh.

That is actually how all this trackday stuff started back in 1998 or so.

A few of us were racing and peeps on the forums would come up and watch. Enough of them said, "we'd like to ride the track, but not race".

Ahhhh...such simpler times.

Check in time still around 6:45 or so. Tony's website says the gates open at 7:30. I thought it was earlier than that. Off to work to pay for more track time.

You can usually come in the night before starting around 6PM.

However, today is a race weekend and a couple of crashes have slowed things down, so racing will likely not be finished until 7 or so.

In the morning, you should be able to come in at any time now... since we pay for overnight security.

Perfect day today... no rain that actually hit the track (couple of super light sprinkles came down for a session, but didn't affect traction)

Tomorrow supposed to be perfect weather... still spots available... just show up!

It was two perfect days weatherwise... and riding wise.

The ambulances were bored and the riders were excited... exactly as it should be!

Had a fantastic 2 days at the track with the new 'RR!

It's been too long since I've been able to get up there and it took me a few sessions to shake out the cobwebs. Once I felt comfortable, and got in my groove, I was ripping around at pretty good clip (good for me anyway!) on Monday. Tuesday I signed up for the timing and my best time was a 1:32 (Slow, I know, but I'll get it down!) Wished I had signed up for it on Monday, because I know I was a little faster when my old body was fresher...

I need to get comfortable with the new config of turn 1, still struggling with how much speed I can carry down the "shute" as I pull away from the wall. I'm breaking way too early and losing all the speed that I was able to gain coming down the front straight.

Many thanks to Pete, John, KB, and Chris for some pointers! Each of you helped with one particular section or another and I appreciate it very much! I know that Pete and John followed me for a lap or 2 then gave me the thumbs up as they blew past me, giving me advice back in the garage. Also, thanks to Keith for boosting my ego by asking me when I was going to bump after my 3rd session on Monday...

I tried to get some pics of Tony ripping around on the 'RR for a session, but he was too damn fast for me to get a shot!
