Well i finally got a decent job so this winter i will be trying to get a track bike ready for next spring. I was wondering what you guys would recommend i pick up? I'm a kawi guy but will go with whatever i can get for the track.
i'm looking for an FI bike, carbs arnt my thing. so which bikes make good track bikes and don't cost a ton to maintain
I'd say it depends on what your mindset is and whether or not you ever have even the slightest inkling to get into racing in the future.
If you wanna learning tool that will help you develop yourself as a rider, a lightweight bike is best.... ex500, sv650, 125gp bike, Motard, etc. Easy on tires, too.
If you want straight up speed... a modern 600 is about the fastest thing around Loudon. Gonna go through tires a little faster though, especially once you pick up the pace.
If you want eyeball sucking power & don't care much about handling or your wallet... turbo busa.
For what its worth, I started doing track days on my '00 ZX6R street bike... had a blast on that thing. Then moved on to an EX500 that I raced for 3 years... a dirt cheap racer that I went pretty quick on & it taught me more than I ever could have imagined... eventually I stepped up to a SV650 and am startin to go kinda sorta fast on it.

hmmm oreo you bring up a good point about the tires . . . interesting they do get expensive
what race classes are there up at in NH?

Should have everything you need. You can start by looking at the registration form for starters.
This is the listing of ALL race classes at Loudon.

To find out what's eligible for what, look at the results to give you an idea of what bikes run what classes, then look in the rulebook to find out what you can do to the bike for each class.

damn nice track bike even set up for my exact weight lol how much is it going for?
here's one that is fully set up for track but is also street legal... you can sell your kawi and use this double duty... might save ya a few bucks you can put towards the tires, track days and penguin school...
Isn't Denno selling a Kawi all set up for track too? looked for it but couldn't find it.

Also, was thinking about getting my chick a bike that i might be able to use on the track. think there is a good solution or will i be buying 2 bikes next year?

Thanks for the good words Jim. I'd be looking for $2,800 for GSXR or a trade for a street bike. As Jim mentioned, it has all the right things done and has a brand new chain and tires. PM me if your interested.
If your looking for a 600, a gsxr is a great bike. Parts are always available and in my opinion a bit easier to work on then some other bikes.
Come and take my 2006 R6s off my hands.... Race ready. GMD Suspension forks & Pensky shock, Measured and set up w/ "sweet numbers". All woodcraft items... etc..etc..
Going back on the market this week. Email me if interested.
As someone who isn't selling a bike, I recommend an SV650.
2021 KTM Duke 890 R
2020 BMW R1250GS Adventure Exclusive
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
SV's are great starter bikes if you're looking to get a cheap, easy to maintain bike that's easy on tires.

Forgot to add to the list....the new RK chain and Vortex sproocket kit is a 520 kit. There's Vortex clip-ons and stomp grip on the tank
