All strippers SHOULD have fake tits!
I tried once.
I was in the right lane.
Did a good run.
But at the end I instinctively leaned off and planted my left knee for turn 1
I am no longer allowed at NED

I go once in a while to keep fresh on my launches.
I used to go all the time in what ever car I owned at the time. I plan on going at least once with my new bike. Destruction of tires never gets old![]()
I haven't been with my bike but I plan to go this year.

I don't plan on taking my bike up there, I have to get decent at riding it first. I'll take pictures though if you guys let me know when you're going up.
Since no one is around to tell the story, a whole bunch of us went to NED a couple years back. Oxx was on his SV650 race bike and Mike was on his RC-51. While Mike successfully wheelied his bike over the first 1/8 mile, Oxx snuck by at the finish line. There was a rematch with the RC being slain by the SV for a second time! I think Mike lost to Brent on his Z1000 too. Needless to say it wasn't Mike's best night!
You should definitely make time to do a street night there. We all had a lot of fun. Here are the requirements for bikes:
- No slicks allowed. Street tires required (DOT Approved racing tires acceptable)
- No bald tires allowed
- Open exhaust is not allowed
- .500 Full Tree using manual start
- Vehicles must comply with safety and equipment requirements as outlined by the current IHRA Rule Book
- Motorcycles must be street legal and able to pass state safety inspection
- Nitrous oxide is permitted and must be installed according to the provisions outlined in the current IHRA Rule Book
- All nitrous assisted motorcycles, regardless of elapsed time, shall be required to install an approved Engine Containment System on their vehicle
- Valid state motorcycle operator’s license is required. Learner’s permits are not acceptable
- Full face Snell M95 helmet required
- Leather jacket and gloves are required
- Over the ankle leather shoes or boots are required
- Leather pants are required on all motorcycles running either 10.99 or quicker or 120 MPH or faster
- All motorcycles must have a permanent style competition number plate attached to the right side of the vehicle
2 things to note:
1. It isn't mentioned in the list but if you fall into the under 11 second or over 120MPH bracket, you have to install a tethered kill switch so your bike will shut off if you fall off. Sub 11 second times are harder to achieve than most people realize but the 120MPH mark is easily attainable by an inexperienced rider on a liter bike.
2. The competition number plate is available for sale at the the track but their availability is at the discretion of the track worker getting around to opening the kiosk that sells them. All you need is a black number plate ziptied to the side of the bike so your assigned number is visible to the guys in the timing shack.

120+ runs will happen on a newer 600 for a newish rider too, they will bug you if you aren't wearing leather pants

I doubt they profile big CC bikes. I've been with a 929 and plenty of visits on an FZ1.
When tech asks what you run give 'em a stupid look and shrug your shoulders.......works for me!

What I want to know is, what did the RC51 turn??
Should I be shaking in my boots with my old gixxer?
{10.82 @ 130.7, no strapping, extended swing arm or wheelie bars}
So who is going to go and when?![]()
