1975 Honda CB400F Supersport.
Awesome shape, stored indoors only 14k!!!
Low Miles!!
Gotta love the pipes!
I do hate the fairing though.
A little surface pitting but nothing I can't polish out!
What do you guys and gals think? Cafe Racer? Restoration project? Ride it as is?

sweet, i'd love to find a sleeper of a deal on something similar.
I'd lose the front fairing and the saddle bags... but I want an old standard like that.

Mike, are you made out of some kind of metal?

It is NOT junk! It is a classic in Damn good shape! They go for about $1500-$2000 in pristine condition.
I bought it to make a quick profit because I knew $500 was a deal. I recently sold the CR125 for $1200 (made $200 there)![]()

dude, you could spend a grand on it, make that a PIMP cafe racer & sell it for a LOT more than 800. I'd totally hold onto that thing.
Why make only 300 in profit off of it when you can fix it up nice, ride it around for a year & make a grand or more when you're done?

cafe racer that bitch.
LRRS EX #165 (formerly)
OK Here is the deal,
#1 You could prob. get some good cake for the fairing and bags alone.
#2 Its a very cool bike, I cut my teeth many years ago on old hondas just like that.
#3 The purist in me says That in order to be true to the cafe racer motif You should have a twin such as CB360/ CL360 or XS650 ect. (triumph knockoffs)
#4 You could keep it as is and use it to take the Wife around vermont
Or Just take the stuff off and ride like a 70's period classic.
Nice find.
OK, this is the most ridiculous CB400F I've ever seen, as it appears someone tried to convert it into a Goldwing. The stock bike was an anti-Goldwing, more along the lines of a true naked cafe racer. It was lightweight and had low bars, rearsets (which this bike still has), and a six speed -- which was slightly unusual at the time. They are very cool bikes.
The CB400F was a failure in the US. I believe in '77 they tried to Americanize it by giving it the Harley makeover -- they put on mini apehangers and other stupid stuff but by that time they'd figured out that most folks in the USA weren't into small lightweight sportbikes, and the bike was discontinued here after '77. I believe the bike was popular in Europe and Japan and continued to evolve until it became the CB-1, which came here in the late 80's and was also a failure. CB400F's are tons of fun -- they're light and you can really throw them around. It's also a lot of fun to thrash the high revving engine. If you tear one down the tiny pistons almost seem like they're out of a model airplane.
CB400F's became collectible in the mid 90's, I got mine in '91 for like $200 and it was my exclusive transport for several years (now it's just sitting in the back of my garage waiting for a total rebuild). I've seen some fetch quite decent money at auction. You definitely got a screamin' deal.Too bad you're selling it as it's a great project bike.

Thanks for the input, It is running ok (3 cylinders) I know I only need to clean the carbs and/or replace the plugs
No trackdays! If I did that the next thing you know is I would be startting to racre in the Vintage series.
I really want to Cafe Racer it, sell the fairing and bags on ebay and maybe get MORE money for it in the future ... but I just don't have the room. It might happen if this sale falls through. It would make a cool little commuter but I already have a streetbike.
Either way I am MAKING money and that makes the wife happy.
I also found one of those CB1's for $500. It is beat so I haven't picked it up. Anyone want the contact info?
