i basically tried to say something similar to what bct said
"Look at what you are getting for the money you are spending. Look at the parts Ducati uses versus what parts other bike manufacturers use."
in terms of the quality of the product, ducatis arent expensive, but in terms of overall money in the grand scheme of life, they are expensive

So the point of this thread was "golly gee 40,000 smackers is a lot of cheese?"
Awesome first post![]()
So this whole thread was about how $40,000 for a bike is a lot of money but if you break the bike down it is worth more than $40,000? Wow....Just wow.
no...i just wanted to know what people thought about the 40 thousand dollar pricetag, which, yes, is a lot of cheese.
and this wasnt my first post

I paid $7.99 for a cheeseburger today at the 99. I mean damn, that's a lot of cake for a cheeseburger, you know? I can get 3 cheeseburgers from MacDonalds for less and they have way more calories. I mean, shit, it was a good cheeseburger, but fuck that's a lot of money for a cheeseburger I don't care how good it is.
Just wanted to know what other people thought of this.
But not for what you are getting, which you already said.
You-"Hey everybody, do you think that $40,000 is too much for a bike that is basically a race bike with lights?"
Us-"Not for what you are getting"
You-"Ya but $40,000 is a lot of money."
Us-"Um...No shit? But look at what you are getting for that money."

I think you can see where this is going.
thats actually not quite where it was going until the ducati fanboys such as yourself came through to start flaming.
and honcl, thats not too bad of a thread topic if you ask me.

You started a thread to bash a bike that is $40,000. Everyone told you that the bike is worth the money if you have it. You continued to say that it was still a lot of money for a bike. If it was a $40,000 Honda and worth the money you would have gotten the same response.
Actually I changed my mind, Ducatis do kind of suck.
I mean come on, desmodromic valves? Welcome to the 1960s, oh Harley of sportbikes.
Also, there are more colors than red, yellow, and italian sherbert or whatever the fuck that christmas tree looking abomination is supposed to be.
Finally, if you want to play with the other manufacturers maybe you should make an I4 instead of whining until the rules get changed.
Oh yeah, and your stupid name has too many stupid vowels in it. No word needs more than one i in it, it's unamerican.
screw the 40 grand i just found a 1098 for sale in b-town for 72grand.![]()
I am angry from having wasted the time to read thru this thread
:

PS
...... Alex .............. I hate you:

Oh shit, you're right. Damn. I was making a list of all the things I didn't like about ducati, but I ran out of paper. So I decided to make a list of the things I like about them instead. Here's what I got so far:
1) Makes it easy to recognize all the elitist sportbike owners who think they're better than you.
2) Relatively low occurence of chrome and/or NAWWWWZZZ.
3) Bemused
Except that last one isn't really true because everyone who's anyone knows that Bemused rode a scracthed up gold Katana like all of the anointed before him, for as it was written "For he shall ride upon a steed of gold, which carries the name of a blade, and it shall be awesome, because come on dude, fucking ninja swords and shit."
nahhh that 20- min burger is tooo expensive ..... sure it's a good burger though..
but firefly's BBQ is deff generic bbq and is so much cheaper there is one out here in marlboro on rt 20 and another farther west. christ there's almost one on every corner. like friggn Mc D's
