Woo Hoo!! I'm done! Both the RSV and SV are ready. I spent the day changing fluids on both bikes and inspecting the rest of both bikes to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Too bad I'm not doing round 1.![]()
Just sent in my pre reg for Super Singles , Motard .............. and Ultra light Superbike, Geno and I have some mixing it up to do!
Aw crap, another one of them dirty bikes soiling our pristine ULSB class...![]()
ohh and Larsnic will be on one as well, and Wild Bill Hiccok might ride his 560smr instead of the Hawk......
Besides I have 0 points in the series , I will be in the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy back
Got a lot done this weekend and was feeling pretty good about it until I thought about everything that's left still. Waiting on some stupid little hardware bits before I can get the rear wheel on or bleed the rear brakes. Chain, bleed the front brakes, fill with oil and water, mount the upper and lower (still need a damn windshield), paint, change bearings in my rain wheels, finish rewiring for keyless ignition, and you know, actually start the bike.
Got the motor all wired up though, and a bunch of other stuff done. Even took some time to retrofit my trailer with brakes. Still have to wire them in but the mechanicals are all there.

Getting there....
Bike is ready (mechanically)
Bodywork and paint is well under way. All glass repairs are done, body filler done, everything sanded and scuffed. Tank cover, upper, and tail are primed. Still working on lower (prior owner covered the fucking thing is stickers that refuse to let go... still painfully working with a razor blade). Everything will be painted by the end of the week.
Confirmed with Wanda that she finally processed my license (# retained)
Spent last night measuring and cutting all the E-Trac for the trailer (back of my left hand is mildly burned from holding the E-Trac against the chop saw. apparently two hours of throwing sparks against your hand will do that.)
Installing E-Trac, TRS, and lights into the trailer on Wednesday night and calling the trailer done.

16 Days folks
dropped my bike at Seacoast to have them break in the motor for me. They should be doing it on my birthday so that must be a good sign right?
also mounted the belly pan on my 748 so my back up bike is just about done. can't really do the belts in the living room, what with having to pull the tank and all.

Just have to safety wire the new bike and finish up mounting the throttle. I don't know why, but for some reason I don't have much interest in racing right now. Maybe I'll skip a couple rounds if I feel the same way in the coming weeks.
Wheels on and wired. Carbs will be on the dining room table shortly for some minor TLC. All that will be left is deciding on a final airbox setup and matching pump/plumbing, syncing, and throwing the body work on. Then I can fit the Pitbull TRS to the trailer and...

Picked up a couple gal of fuel last night now that the bike is painted and together. It took some coaxing but eventually fired up. Mustve been a stuck bowl float on the rear cyl carb cuz gas was slowly coming out of the overflow tube. Checked the float and reassembled. No more overflow but now there is mysterious smoke at idle coming from what appears to be the area around the back of the rear cyl at idle. Will investigate further. :/

Just found out I need a right side center case............... Fuck my life , might be rippin the B bike the first round if the parts don't get here quick enough
New livery is mostly laid out so I can get started on the paint finally. Hoping that I can work efficiently and get the mechanicals finished up in between coats of paint rather than letting anything sit while I work on something else.
Did you have that area apart for any reason? Did you spill and gas or oil? Did you use any penetrating lube on ANYTHING in that general area? If you can answer yes to any of these I would just run it and get it good and hot, it'll most likely go away on it's own. It's not at all uncommon for some sort of fluid or chemical to end up on or near the engine after a rebuild of any kind. First time it's started and gets some heat in it that stuff burns off and you get weird smoke like what you're seeing.
