I have a 06 gsxr 1000 and thinking of doing a 1078cc kit to it. Don't want to stroke it, more than I want to spend. Has anybody done this?
Besides the kit, what else do I need to have? and how much more $$$? I heard A beams would be good for insurance but not needed unless i was over 200whp. I want to keep stock cams b/c I love the low-end torque. With out the cams I should be around 185-195 whp with exhaust, pcv, filter, tune. Also read that I need the head ported.
What are your imputs about this idea.
Is $2000 enough? That is not including the pcv, filter, etc.

Ya the bike has a lot of work done to it now. I'm pretty much I'm at the limit with liability and maintance of a stock motor pushed to its limits. Anything else I'd have to change the way I ride it and take care of it.
Honestly this motor is so aggressive stock that you can't tell there's lost torque. After 7k is stupid but it's not weak under that. Pretty much any gear any rpms the bike is pulling baaad. It sounds unreal but it also feels unreal haha.
I'd never get rid of that bike no matter what.
