uh.... yeah.... exactly what he said... that's what i got out of Kahm's 600 comment, tooOriginally posted by LM954RR
I think what Kham meant, was....If your reason for not riding until the wheel is replaced, is a decision based upon a safety concern and being there for the kids....Why wouldn't that logic have come into play before purchasing a ZX10R, and gone with another 600 instead.
Maybe not so obviously put into words, from him..But that's what I am getting from what i've read here.
Nothing offensive if you ask me.......and even if you don't ask me.
what the fuck is the big deal?i don't get it

If we are going to look at it that way even with 20 yrs of riding time she might as well just hide in the house and not leave. Motorcycling in itself is a dangerous sport, when bike size comes more into play is in experience or lack there of. Although the newer 600's have nutty power the bigger bike are just that much more. Experience will help you read a situation better and know how to react to it, (i.e. decreasing radius corners, and throttle control ). The way the post had sounded at first is due to the fact the Double "D" is a woman and mother, she shouldn't be on a bike and that was where the headache began. Have had enough and time to drop it.Originally posted by LM954RR

1. i was pissed for the stupid comments for something like this.
2. please accept my apology Rice-Rocket. i promise this is the last comments i will make about you and your family.
3. i made the joke because 1) i dont know # of yrs experience. 2) i thought you would be cool about it. 3) you said you'r on the caution side and want your wife to be around for your kids.
4. on the engine size, good for you on the super mom. your wife is a mom right? just making sure.
that's it.
on a different topic. how do you measure experience? by # of yrs alone? if that is the case would you compare your skills with harley riders with t he same # of yrs? maybe ill start a new topic.
"fuckit!"

To me time in saddle with smaller cc bikes then stepping up when you get milage and calender time. (Some people put on alot of milage highway in a short time only). You need multiple environments (highway, city, back roads, single and group rides in all areas)Originally posted by Kham

Also there are very good and bad Harley riders just like those who ride sport. I know of some one that rides Harley that I will be happy to ride with and on same note I know of some-one that has been riding rice for many years that I will not ride with because he takes STUPID chances (doesn't consider the safety of those around him) and I consider him dangerous to ride with.....

What I got out of it was she is a girl with kids, if the wheel self detructing or the subframe collapsing is a concern, of which I have no regard for my life or those around me when riding, then maybe this chick should ride a smaller bike.....
But that's just me and my synacal self..... You see if there is a recall due to safety issues which could add to the danger of riding any bike(see; got hit while riding an sv650), then I wouldnt ride becuase I want every chance to stay alive for my kids as well, Now according to Khams comment, I shouldn't be riding a SUPAHAWK then either, may a gs500, or a 125cc or sumptin.....
As with anything, which draws a self generated conclusion, your own personal way of thinking, will reflect in your perception of the context in which others words might be taken. Especially when reading emotionless, emphasis free, text. What I got out of it was she is a girl with kids
Jackasses <-----Insult or good fun?? depending on the type of person you are....you will read into this, in the context which you would have meant it.

I don't think so......Maybe more like a 49cc Honda Spree.Now according to Khams comment, I shouldn't be riding a SUPAHAWK then either, may a gs500, or a 125cc or sumptin.....![]()

Kham get the chip off your shoulder.
You seem to be riding the ZX-10 OK, no one is giving you a hard time. Keep riding the big miles like you appear to be doing without crashing and people are going to start assuming you've gotten a lot better. You *have* gotten a lot better as far as I can tell from seeing you ride the new bike.
Just expect to get a ton of shit if you wad the ZX-10 after the way you've acted.
And clean that melted plastic off the tail and pipe.

Ben, shut it! there is nothing about "wad the zx10" here. it's in you'r head. go read my explaination.Originally posted by benVFR

better yet ill explain again.
due to a recal the husband he's on the caution side and will not let the wife ride because the wheel might fall off, got hurt, and no one will take care of the kids. with that in mind, riding a 1000cc or "sportbikes" mention by the husband himself is dangerous and not really on the caution side regardless experienced. is it not? i wanted to say why not get her a 250cc but that would not come out right either.
is that so wrong? jesus chris.. get a clue people!!!
the chip on my shoulder is someone thinks he understands it, stood up for the husband and so alienating other member (me).
"fuckit!"
I started this thread simply stating that my recall parts are on order, and that I won’t be riding until it is fixed. My choice!
And all of a sudden I should be riding a 600cc or a 250cc bike. No bike is considered a “safe” bike, including pocket bikes.

I choose to ride, and I chose to buy a 1000cc, with no ones influence. I respect its power and know its capabilities.I just don’t want to die or get hurt because of a recall that I have no control over…so if Kawasaki says not to ride it, I won’t.
I spoke with a rep at Kawasaki today. The wheels have been shipped, but he could not give me a time frame on delivery. All the dealers got sent the number of wheels according the number of 10R’s sold. So hopefully it won’t take too long. As for a loaner bike…Kawasaki’s not offering any…and the dealer Brockton Cycle, doesn’t have loaner bikes.

See this goes to show Lou's point of people taking out of perspective, Kham thought that Rice didn't want Dub to ride due to the recall because he used first person and I quote 'I prefer to error on the side of caution with this one.'. Stating that if some said to him don't ride it he wouldn't and doenst blame his wife for not wanting to.
Now Kham saying she should be riding a 250 means what??? I don't know because the times I have talked to him it was , 'hey Kham how's it going', 'Hey Kham, man I love this bike', 'Kham, glad you made it, so you gonna put that pig on the Dyno or what?'
'Jackasses <-----Insult or good fun?? depending on the type of person you are....you will read into this, in the context which you would have meant it.' See now riding with you once I have no idea what you mean when you call me a jackass. When Rice calls me a Jackass, I know what he means.

I have a few things to add that are lingering in my head, but I will just sit here and watch and shut up. I tryed to help and tryed to explain & even to be sure to tell you Kham I was not thrashing you, but somehow you think I was...Whatever....
Dub-D you have made your own decision based on some highly qualified Kawasaki engineer telling you your bike is unsafe to ride as it sits. Sounds pretty freaking intellegent to me!!
Why would anyone risk their life riding if they were told the bike was unsafe?? If a person was to go ahead and do this it tells me that your an idiot...... Hey it's your life if you want to risk it, do it without insurance so my premium doesn't skyrocket.. And if anything happens while riding it under a direct notification saying it's unsafe, but you ride anyways then come to find out the malfuction was in fact an issue. Well you will not be covered for anything, and you will be stuck paying the bills, and suffering from the result of a crash.. I do not wish this on anyone, but you would deserve what came to you... These engineers get paid huge $$ to know wtf they are talking about.. One serious question is why are they only finding out about this issue now, and not during the test phase of these bikes? Where was the issue origonally discovered??? Anybody read up on this??

I would be willing to bet, the "stringent" testing they did ,over in the R&D Dept, prior to releasing, or going public with the release of the new ZX10R, wasn't so stringent afterall....In the scurry to design and build the next superbike...they probably left out a test or two. In anticipation, that they would simply deal with whatever little problems surfaced, as they surface. By way of Campaigns.![]()

I t wouldn't surprise me......
Hell~ Auto Manufacturers do it all the time. They find design flaws that affect very few vehicles, weigh the potential cost of the minimal percentage of people who will seu them, calculate the projected possible cost/Loss, per lawsuit, and then weigh it against the cost of a campaign/recall. Whichever is less ,is what they opt to go with.
edit: That is...Unless the NHTSA makes them put out a recall.
