I like the look of the RX-1 cobra. Their reputation? I've never heard of them. I guess they're used in BSB.

I know it's not Arai or Shoei, but what do you guys think? Know of them?

The helmets are ECE 22.05 approved and also carry the A.C.U. Gold approval (Auto-Cycling Union) which would lead me to believe they are quality helmets.

These are both British standards that are loosely equivalent to a Snell rating in the US. I'm sure your head would be safe inside of one but you may not be able to use them at a track because it is not Snell rated.

Ah yes, no Snell rating. That sucks, no racing for the craft!

I know Daviid's Vemar only has DOT and ECE 22.05 cert & his checked out alright for racing...

BUT... I saw on the Craft website "Click+lock retention system"... and I THINK i remember seeing something in the LRRS rulebook disallowing that kinda strap system.... might wanna double check the rulebook & an email to Don will usually get you a definative answer.

EDIT: "Quick release helmet straps are also not allowed unless original equipment." - Page 11, LRRS rulebook, 2006

..... so, obviously it's original equipment on that lid, so it's all good assuming the rules allow ECE 22.06

Anyone ever hear of these helmets?

Back in England I had 2 RX7's (the precursor to the the RX6 yeah I know go figure). I gave them to friends when I left to come over here as the british standard was nor accepted as legal over here at that point (a year or two after, that changed ) . The ACU gold standard is the Euro racing standard so maybe you're good there.

The helmets themselves were comfy but the RX7 was loud and heavy but dam they looked cool with black visor and seemed well put together. I'd recommend them.

If your not too bothered about DOT check out ROOF helmets if you like the darth look. They are as far as I know Euro and British safety stamped which as stated earlier is now legal for road use here. It was going to be my next helmet before I moved over.

I have recently been thinking about getting either another craft or a Roof to replace my crappy helmet I have now

    Hope it helps
