I wouldn't recommend those. After trying those overpriced and nonadjustable "sport bars," and then getting the much more practical LSL superbike bars, I can say without a doubt the LSLs are the way to go. I got mine (and almost all of my 650R accessories) from Blue Ridge Performance.
Awesome bike for doing a track day!
I rode one last year for a session and I was surprised at how much fun it was.
Alvecchio & Kawismurf -- I'm gonna hold off on the sport bars. I bought the 650r for the ride position (opposed to a ZX-6). But we'll see in the future what I do.
KenC - Maybe in a few years I'll get on the Track, gotta get some miles under my belt.
Thanks for the comments

Ride to live, live to ride
Yea, a track day in the beginner group(Red for Tony's) will be the best money you'll spend for your bike. You learn SO much about riding a motorcycle it isn't even funny. It made me a MUCH more confident and capable street rider. You'll gain confidence, understand your bike, learn to use visual skills...It really opened my eyes to real riding.
The best thing about it is it's seriously NOT a race. Everyone is out there to have fun riding their bikes. The yellow and blue groups are for people goin faster. The red group pace is ideal for people like myself that wanted to get the basics of track riding down without feeling intimidated or pushed. The staff at Tony's is excellent, the people there are all really cool, the class sessions help a TON.
Without turning this thread into a Tony's Track Days plug I'll just suggest that you sign up for a june/july date. Get a couple months of riding done then hit the track. Best environment to learn.
Great choice of first bike... by far the best color scheme on them. Red frame = amazing.
Good luck!

Yeah I would love to do a track day this year, we'll see.
Danny500. Thanks for the approval, I have to put up some newer pics with my mods. Stay tuned
Yah, I miss mine. Just looking at the pic (color enhance/reduction) brings back so many memories from my two years with her. Some of them are kind of sad and involve a break with with a certain young lady who I was with when I bought it and all the rides we had on it but hey at least we're still friends and probably for the better. Anyway enough of that. I would love to meet you this spring for a ride, Sir!
And BTW I was perfectly happy with my bars but what I did do was drop those forks .75" do that IMMEDIATELY and note the difference.
And pull the snorkels out. Blue Ridge is the place to hang out, Pappa Smurf and I can relate, I bought his old exhaust when mine crapped out 200 miles out of warranty and Kawasaki told me to go to hell even though I was on a 400 mile trip when it went, nice.
Out for a chilly Satty ride on the Sprint, peace.

KingCast650--
Pull the snorkels out. Please explain
They're little rubber ports about three inches long at the front of the air box. You need to remove the air box cover, reach in, and pull them out. They're a little stiff, so the best method is to try and squeeze them near the seal, and pull. Best combined with a high flow filter. Intake sound is very throaty with them out. Throttle response is a bit snappier. Free and easy mod.
will this make these bikes run lean?
Leaner, yes. Like i said, there will be noticeable abruptness in the throttle. Not to the point of making it unrideable, or even requiring a PCIII (though that would obviously help). There will probably be a bit of popping from the exhaust, so its also a good idea to plug the PAIR valve, which is really easy, but should be done at the same time unless you like taking that tank on and off all the time.
Just rec'd Woodcraft Front Triple Tree sand I bought of Ebay for 60 bucks. Great deal, Great Stand. SWEEEEEEET![]()
thanks for the info kingcast
+1 on Blue Ridge Performance, I bought most my goodies from Gary, great guy to deal with, he rides them, races them, bleeds them. He also has a pretty nice forum (not nearly as cool as this one) with a lot of good info. I never did the pair valve mods or messed with the airbox, just went to new air filter, exhaust and remapped with the PCIII. Bike felt better after that, but lost a little bit of the mpg. My old baby, in the slightly faster color...

Yah, I miss mine too. Such a great city bike. What did you get now? Is that a Jardine, loud as hell right?
True that color is slightly faster but the bike itself is slightly slower you just see it sooner![]()
