2004 Michelin DOT Power Race Tires

Here's a fax we received about the new Michelin Power Race Tires for 2004.

Rossi rides Michelin, so they must be good!

There are going to be two different levels of Michelin Power Race's - There will be five tires available from ANY distributor that carries Michelin like Parts Unlimited. Then there will be three tires available only to race tire distributors like Motorace.

DO NOT let a dealer tell you one of the five is a true race tire - it is not. A more proper designation would be track day tire, similar to the Pilot Sport Cup series or Race Two H2.

These three special Race Distributor tires are dual compound and the product of many, many hours of hard work and testing. Michelin is extremely proud of them as they are a huge leap foward over the Race Two's. Just as the Pilot Power was a MUCH better tire than the Pilot Sport, so goes the Power Race over the Race Two.

These tires have been tested in a few events here in the USA with excellent results and our now in production at Michelin France. They will be available in February, 2005.

I just ordered a set of the Pilot Powers yesterday I'm expecting them to be WORLDS better than the D207s that are on there now

I'm actually going the exact same route with the R1 in the spring...I've never been a big fan of those D207s, they feel kinda numb....

will you be running any close out specials on the older race compounds?

Yes, we will have a bunch of blow-out specials on the Race Two's and Pilot Sport Cups.

This should be happening in January. I'll post it when I get more info.
