so last year i had decided to go to indy gp for the first time but i also wanted to go to southwick finally because i had been wanting to do that forever. unfortunately i noticed they were on the same weekend and the friend i was going with to indy didnt want to be crazy and go to both. i was cool with that and we just did indy for the 3 days. i figured id see southwick the next year but no SAME weekend again! so i was telling a different friend(ben) that i was pissed they were on the same weekend yet again and he asked me if i wanted to be crazy and do both.
we left rochester on sat morning to head to southwick and got there about 11am. did some exploring and then found a pretty good spot where you could see most of the track. had a great time and loved the track. it wasnt raining when we got there but didn't take long for irene to show up. we couldnt have picked a better time to head west.
during the begining of the trip to indy at about 7pm im telling ben about the race bodywork story. On the R6 forum, back in mid july someone was selling a nice set of sharkskinz with extras. he said it would be $100 for shipping on top of the price but he'd lower that if i traded him some parts. i ended up having more that he wanted and agreed to do an even trade and all i have to do is pay shipping. well he bs'd me until i noticed he got my parts and then he completely ignored me. after many messages he responds a couple weeks later and says he just shipped them. says they'll be there in 10 days. of course they werent but i gave it a few extra and still nothing. told him i filed a dispute with paypal and he says thats fine, its been out of my hands since i shipped them. another few days go by and no parts or response.
at this point ben asks where does he live? kentucky i think. isnt that right below indiana? ya i guess your right. i happen to still have his address in my wallet and looked it up and its east of louisville which is about 130 miles directly south of indy. so he says for shits and giggles just tell him were going to come and pick them up ourselves. he answered "yes that is fine, i have them here" ahhhhhhh i was furious. of course i asked how can they be there if you shipped them. "i just got it back yesterday after it sat in the warehouse" well why didn't you tell me that "i was busy" ughhh so mad! so i told him we'd be there at 8-9am sunday. not sure if he believed me or not considering i live 1000 miles from his place. but we showed up at 730 at his door and he was sleeping so i had to knock pretty good to wake him up. and sure as shit! theres my box full of sharkskinz! i told him to send back the $100 and he said well the box was $30. so we took everything out of the box and put it in the back seat and told him he could keep his box. and off to indy!
we got to the track at 10am sunday. had some time to check out some tents and then head over to the mounds just in time for the start of the 125's. then of course moto2. there was even a little redbull airshow before motogp. too bad spies didn't get a good start but it was fun watching him fight back from 9th all the way to steal the podium from lorenzo. after the races we went back to check out all the bikes and what not.
stayed in a hotel sunday night and left before sunrise on monday.
what a weekend!

That would be a great time especially the hunting down the shark skinz part. I could imagine the look on that guys face when you showed up.
Should have had the camera ready for when he answered the door.
