Years of hot air and finally seeing some real actual bikes.
I have absolutely no need or the skills whatsoever for all this power, but man does it make me drool. It doesn't just sound insanely fast, but looks like a really well-put-together bike. Can't wait to see these show up in the US so I can ogle in person.

Why does it have the exhaust from the space shuttle? Oh my God.

...And squids everywhere rejoiced!
But seriously, the color is pretty dope. The shape, meh.

Biggest redesign on the GSX-R in at least a decade. The engine tech is just bananas... centrifugally operated VVT?!
They're just starting to trickle out for demo runs and stuff so it's all super hyped. But can't wait to watch this thing win some races. I'm psyched to see Suzuki getting on the map again.
Yeah, that pipe is hilarious... disposable emissions check

Looks tits. Makes me want to take the red lower fairings off of my '16 750 and put black on. I imagine it'll be a monster.
185hp stock is the word on the streets.

Surprised with such a redesign, they still stuck with the ugly front end!
While 185 hp is nothing to laugh at, isn't the completion putting out/advertising higher numbers? S1000RR and RSV4 are slightly over 200 at last check..zx10 not far behind.

I think the VVT kicks in around 10k RPM
Red line is a 2016 R1
Green line is a 2016 ZX10r
Blue line a 2017 GSXR 1000
(Too bad they didn't have an S1000RR in the mix....)

A well respected US engine builder/tuner shared the same dyno print out with a note that it is approximately 10hp off.
We'll just have to wait and see.

What was the reasoning for thinking it is 10 hp off?
Edit: SAE v STD?

That might be the most linear power delivery I've ever seen. The 25hp advantage over the Kawi at 7k is nutso.
Unless you're at Red Bull Ring
I guess there is no independent wheelie control, it's baked in to the TCS.

North of 220 from.what I am hearing for Elias bike. Granted that's a sbk race machine.

Definitely motivating me to follow SBK this year. Tried to last year but couldn't find any sensible way to subscribe/watch without just tuning in to the live races.
Not sure what's typical for SBK but they're pretty much limited to porting, polishing, exhaust, minor cam tweaks, etc. I think?

Suzuki is not in sbk, just Motoamerica and bsb. I believe the new MA rules are closer to sbk now.
