dammit my 2nd gear is goin out and i defiantly don't have the 1200 for the fix,screw it ima just get another season or 2 out of it than buy a new bike,ill just skip right over second and shift from 1st to 3rd,it only gets crewed under heavy acceleration anyways,

Fix it yourself. While you're at it you might as well make sure the muffler bearings are still packed.

What bike? A 96 750 like you name states? I did mine in my R6 last winter. It's not hard, hell the hardest part is getting the motor out of the frame.
Could the connection between the handle bars and the seat could be faulty? Remove that part completely, you don't need it.
Poor bastard. No seriously though, you'd be surprised how easy a lot of this stuff is. You'll learn a ton and build up a good collection of tools in the process.

Just take your time and fix it yourself. You're not going to be riding it for the next few months anyway. When ever my YZF second gear gives out (hopefully never as I make sure my shifts are crisp and fast) I'm going to replace it myself. I've never done that before either.
