I have begun a site of the Best Rides in the Appalachians as a way to give back to fellow motorcyclists and want nothing in return. So far I have 7 great rides posted with photos, Google Maps, and GPS files: Link
I will add more rides. I have also included a page with favorite roads, places to see, places to stay, etc. Link.
Eventually I will expand this into a Best Riding in the Appalachians website from Maryland to Alabama. We currently have a Best of the Northeast website that covers Newfoundland to Pennsylvania and has over 65,000 page visits in a few years: Link

thanks for that. ive been planning a trip down there and this helps tremendously
You can add a bunch more roads from my various ride reports in the region (link below in my sig). Just be aware that when ADVrider changed their software, they stopped allowing HTML code, so the track maps aren't showing up in my reports. You have to manually copy the link for each map (those are still visible, just not clickable) and paste it into a new browser tab. I'll get around to fixing them eventually.
I've covered a good chunk of West Virginia, Virginia, the Great Smokies region, and some Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

Pretty awsome Ed !
I will be using it.
I use your site for reference often and refer others also.
My Catskills ride last yr. was based off it and took me to roads i would not have seen without it.
Thanks for sharing !
