I think this would put just about anyone here into Bankruptcy... and for some people, it just might be worth it.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
That's ludicrous! Would anyone who owned that ever wat to ride it? More of a museum piece.
And TL motor?! You obviously haven't ridden a new 999R. The motor on that thing truly sparkles. Handling is unreal! It's NOTHING like the older 916/998 family. Those were slow spinning, slow turning bikes. Those days are gone.
I can't imagine that guy finishing for under 50K anyway, so why not get the sedici?
yeah the 999 is great motor. it only took um 9 years to catch up

yeah, but it must be nice when someone rolls up and asks "Where did you get that thing?"Originally posted by Paul_E_D

The response: "I built it."
That Ti exhaust and that wheel/rotor combo are pretty hot. I'd throw that red chain on the scrap pile, though.
hotness for sure. that swing arm looks like it used to be part of a tank
What a beautiful bike !!!!
But, did any one else hear the money vacuum as you were browsing the pics ? Cha-ching !!!!!!

exactly, that's the ONE THING i didn't love about it... I'd much rather see a nice Gold racing chain on there... that'd match the suspension bits.Originally posted by trickphoto

from the date & time stamps of the updates the guy is posting, it's still a work in progress.Originally posted by Paul_E_D
Is this project current? I can't wait to see the finished bike.

The owner of Mototek is a friend of mine, he also just purchased Ducati Austin. He gets customers that don't care about the money, they wpie with $100 bills.
can you get him to return my e-mails and phone calls about a missing lense cover on my mototek undertail?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
It's beautiful and the workmanship is excellent. I love all the finely machined bits. It must be fun to put something like that together.
That said, I think it's kinda "OCCish" in that it's appears to be mostly an exercise in applying the most expensive and pretty bolt-on, off-the-shelf parts to an off-the-shelf frame and motor. It's nothing that could not be done by anyone with some tools and a credit card with a pretty high limit.
I guess my observation is that I don't see a whole lot of fabrication going on. People who can fabricate stuff impress me. For instance, I'd like to see the effort that went into designing and building the prototype for that exhaust system... IMO, that's where the talent is.
Bling is what makes $$.
If you were just trying to get more bling-blingy Ducatisiti over to your accessories counter wouldn't you build up the bike the same way?
The entire thread is a giant free of cost advertisement. The guy is is a marketing genius.
sorta curious to see what happens when a bike like that gets wadded up.

I wipe my ass with $100 bills too. I'm not gonna pay em
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
