Need some advice (poser question)

Whelp, my black to red fade Micron high pipe is starting to get ugly looking. Its a defect from Micron and they are willing to replace it at no cost. The red part is fading to a pink color and the red also gets spider cracks in it when the pipe gets hot
I LOVE the look of what i have now and they will replace it for free ONE time but any upgrade i choose over the black/red fade will have the standard 1 year warenty.
I don't want to get another one and have the same thing happen so i have a few choices that i just can't make my mind up on.
Here are my choices (click the canister colors) and i'm undecided on the solid black, red carbon fibre/kevlar, or the Ti. Keep in mind my bike is the 03 R6 in black with red flames for those that don't know.

By not actually looking at the pipe on the bike, I can picture Solid Black looking the best, unless you plan on polishing your bike, then it would be best with the Ti.

I dont think red carbon fi will look as good as the black.

To bad you dont trust the style you have, it looks sweet... I dont blame you..

Anyway, back to my pipe.. huh huh pipe...
I just got off the phone with Micron and there was a little change in tone on their part. I had decided on the red carbon fibre, against what everyone told me i know, but i think it will go good with the red flames, and looking at the bike, there would be to much black.
Anyway, the guy tells me i only have three choices to choose from now solid black, solid red, or black carbon fibre. Reluctantly, i said ok, give me the black one. Then explains to me to take the pipe off, put it in a box and mail it to them so they can resleeve it. Suddenly, i'm going from a "we'll replace it at no cost to you" in a email to me having to pay shipping to and from them I paid the shipping to me once, not my fault it's defective
Not to mention i'd be without a pipe for 2 weeks.
I don't like the games they try to play with this shit. I'll give them one more chance to fix it at no cost to me before i move on to more drastic tactics

Just a little update

There is a new red to black fade on it's way to me from MNA. After telling them several times i either wanted a full refund or a new black/red cannister, they agreed to send me the new red/black one WITH the full one year warenty. They are even sending me a return ticket from Fedex to return the old one...
Remember, my issue with them was that i had to pay the shipping, go without the pipe for 2 weeks, and there would have been no warenty if i were to select the black/red fade again. I guess i'm happy with the results and they assured me there was a change made in the product so this wouldn't happen again...

Customer service just isn't what it used to be, you have to fight for things that are rightfully yours to begin with.

I had a customer service issue today with a Ford dealership. I had to tell them that the issues with my truck were under warrenty.. They just wanted my $900 is what it was.. Fuck you!!
I won that battle as well... Why should I have to tell them? Duh! Look in your dam computer stupid!

I have the 2003 black and red too! I am thinking of getting a Yosh Tri for it tho. I heard alot of Micron Fades were getting recalled. Sucks. At least you made them pay for shipping. Hope the new one is better.

Oh great, so now there's 2 of the best looking bikes ever made on this forum

I got the new replacement part in the mail today. It only took about 5 minutes to change it so that wasn't to bad. Looking at the old and the new one together, you can really see the fade in the old pipe. I was told by the Micron rep that the fade was a heat issue but i'm not sure i buy that. When i took the old sleeve off, the rubber gasket covered part of the red color which was not faded. I feel it's a UV problem but i was assured it would not happen again so i'm not to worried about it

Cool, that black to red fade looks sweet! I won't be getting a pipe for a while. I just ordered an Alpinestars leather suit. Safety first and all that good stuff. Glad to hear they took care of you though. Good customer service although you had to squuuueeeezzzzzze it out of them. Be nice to ride with you sometime. Two beautiful Black and Reds tearin down the road. Ahhhh.
