    AGV Grid helmet

Anyone have one of these? I tried one and liked it but the sales guy was telling me its an upright oriented sport-touring helmet. AGV's website shows it with the race helmets.

Does it lift up at speed? Any issues with vision in a tuck?

I haven't tried that one, but I have a GP-Tech and love it. Noisy from tons of air flow and likes to be worn with the chin bar "up". They're on clearance everywhere and might be the better bet if you regularly ride like you do in your avatar.

I bought my Simoncelli replica for $499/no shipping fee direct from AGV's site.

The "chinbar up" thing would definitely take some getting used to. Seems like an AGV thing, the Corsa sits the same way and I didnt like it at all. I'm hesitant to buy something on close-out that I havent test-fitted.

Not my experience. I have a 2012 Rossi Elements replica GP Tech and it's fairly neutral.

Will the AGV helmets pass tech because they are not Snell approved. Just DOT and ECE 22.05 approved. I know most of if not all of the K3 series have some nice designs but are made from thermoplastic shells.

LRRS recognizes ECE 22.05 I believe.

I'd like to get the carbon fiber AGV but don't want to invest until I get the ok from tech. I thought the rules book acknowledged the ECE Cert but I need to review that again.

Yes, they will pass tech. From the 2014 LRRS rule book:

17.1.2 The helmet must meet DOT plus Snell (USA) approval or the British Blue Label standard BSI 6658 Type A helmet standard or the European ECE22-04 & ECE22-05 P standard. The appropriate stickers must be attached.
