more proof that motorcycles don't kill people, choking on a chicken bone kills people.
(btw, note how fast that bike gets picked up by the cornerworkers... like lightning those boys)

I think I know why the cornerworkers got there so fast... this is a crash from next September... 2006... I guess the guys saw the video like we just did so they knew it was comin... too bad "Pete" hasn't seen the video yet... maybe he'll see it & the video will disappear like a newspaper from Back to the Future![]()

ok what happened there? is the bike wrong? or did the rider jerk something?
"fuckit!"
the guy that crashed, too much throttle & his back end stepped out, tank slapper, highside... guy following stood his bike up & went right into him... if he stayed on his line he woulda gone right by him, no problem.Originally posted by Kham

Pretty sure they got there so fast because a chunk of the clip when the camera was stairing at the gaurd rail was removed to make it shorter. You can see a jump in the grass.
erf..ok, i dont think i even wanna watch it now....

That was painful to watch, I can only imagine how the guy who got run over feels.
2 questions for more experienced riders:
1) Did that guy fall "well" giving how he carried his arms in the crash? (guy who highsided)
2) I am presuming that highsider lost rear tire traction and he shut the throttle - is this the likely case and if so, had he stayed on gas, equal or harder he would probably have been OK?
I ask #2 because twice at Loudon while coming out of T3 going up the hill I had two instances where it seemed that my RPMs went up and rear stepped out ever *so* slightly . I stayed on the gas and it just came together, by the time I sensed what has going on, it was over so I didn't get chance to become ham-fisted with controlsI just dont want to end up in a preventable high side.

Most cases he would have been ok.. T3 is bad about that... Just stay on it and it all just comes together and goes CLICK!!It is still scary as H$LL!!!!!!

If you start to step the rear out keep the throttle right where it is. The bike should catch up to the tire. I had that happen in the bowl (T6). The people that were up in the stand and myself thought that I was going to go pavement surfing. They said the rear stepped out quite a bit, felt like ten feet to me. If you give it more throttle your looking to lowside which is still better that highsiding.....

Right you are rocket ! The worst possible thing you can do, as a rider, when the rear starts to try and come around is close the throttle. Just look at Rossi and Hayden and just about anyone else in the MototGP paddock. Those guys are on the throttle before they reach the apex and they never let up. After they get the incoming braking and slide under control, they rap on the throttle and slide it all the way out.
And what the fuck, camera dude! Hold your line !
