If the frame is dented it's going to be a total loss Kham. If you choose to rebuild it, I warn you now it's a bitch to get a salvage title. But you could have a good winter project and then sell it to let someone else try to register it????
Like I said My buddy will buy it as is and you will make another $500 on top of what the ins co gives you.. Just an idea..

Us Kawasaki riders can't help if our bikes are too fast, they were made that way.

some more info.
the insurance jackup is per vehicle, not per policy and will be more than i thought. i will always have 2.
i may not make the claim because 1) the dent in the frame does not effect the inspection each year and 2) the insurance jackup.
any comments?

Yup, it will cost you $4,000 in cumulative insurance surcharges after several years...just to receive $3,000 to repair the bike. Insurance companies are businesses, and you are part of their profit.i may not make the claim because 1) the dent in the frame does not effect the inspection each year and 2) the insurance jackup. any comments?
Don't worry about the small dent in the frame, cover it with a sticker if necessary, 90% of the inspectors don't check anyways.
I think you found the perfect wheelie bike, or maybe a race bike. Race plastic is pretty inexpensive. It's the perfect bike for loudon!!
I would make it a street-fighter before I paid $1000+ to replace plastic. Searching Ebay might be worth it to find used plastic.

Shit Kham, just read this, sorry to hear about your get-off. Sounds like you mangled that bike good. I dunno, I'm no expert in bike repair, but I'd say with that much damage you might be best off letting the insurance company total it. You've probably got a steering stop busted off? And the forks could have bent, along with the frame, subframe, etc. All the little things on a bike that are imperceptible to the eye but coudl mean you spend $1500 and your bike still doesn't "feel" right.
Mike, you wanna PM me the name and number of your buddy? Insurance company just found my zx6e down in andover last week laid down on the side of the road with the ignition busted out. Insurance is still out on whether they'll total it, but seem to think they will. I have no need for a third bike and wouldn't mind recouping my deductible...
im speculating somehow the nose hit the railgard, shattered and must have absorb a lot of impact to damage steering. the lock is still good. the frame dent and broken clip-on has to be from falling. just received teh frame slider today- btw. damnit.. could have saved me a lot of headache.
there is not even a slight dent or any visual damage to the railgard besides the blue color streaking across. im wondering if the bike is made to shatter this way. i notice one other 636 on ebay that looks almost like mine.![]()

streetfighter?? Glad u are ok. Each insurance point is something like +7.5% to the cost of all your insurance policies. At least thats what I was told when I lost the front tire a couple weeks ago. Between car and bike and deductible and the cumulation of $$$ over the years.. it'd be cheaper for me to fix mine out of pocket.. basically the insurance company is the same cost as it would be to finance the repairs at 15% apr... they getcha and they getcha good.. Since u have more damage it may work out more in your favor.. GL either way!!
Kham,
Sorry to hear about your accident, glad your okay. Don't know if theyoffer it in MA but when I live in NH i took a safe driver course to get points off my insurance. It was cheep to take. Also, if you take the MSF course in MA you get 10% off insurance too. I took it this year and Honda payed for it with the new bike.
thanks Adam, i took MSF last year and lost the card the very first week.
. i took safe driver course since i was 18 and dont know what it means now. you would think insurance knows about the good things you have done. of course not. but they know about your screw up. them bastard.
