Bambi goes ice skating in front of me

Went for a ride on sunday with 3 friends on VT 100. I was second in line when bambi decides to cross the road at full speed. Well as soon as it hit the pavement i guess it tried to stop and it just flipped itself over and was flopping around and came to a halt right in front of me. Had a car coming the other way so i just hit both brakes hard as this deer is trying to get up which it wasnt doing a good job of. Back end of the bike was fishtailing a little and I knew I wasn't going to stop in time so before I hit it I let go of the brakes and leaned to the right and picked up my left foot as high as i could. Ended up only hitting the front of the deer as before i was heading straight towards its body. The deers legs hit my fairing and its damn head hit my foot. Bambi got up and ran off with only a concussion im assuming lol. I'm fine and and it only banged up my inner front fairing a little. I had no where to go and did all i could i guess im just glad I didnt hit it dead on for one and two got ran over from behind by the other bikes. I wish i head a camera on the bike seeing that deer rolling around then trying to get traction to get up was a sight. When I hit it was probably got the bike down to 15-20 MPH roughly. Was going about 50-60 before hand. A little shook the first thing i said to my friends was ..." Thats why I shoot those bastards" . If I didnt have my Sidi boots on and had on sneakers my foot probably would have been messed up. Sorry for any typos im tired haha.

What time of day did this happen? I may have to be more vigilant while cruising around that area. Glad you fared so well!

I would say right around noon roughly. Thanks there was alot of sand on the roads from the big storm we had so careful out there.

this is why i like to carry, shoot em dead and say you hit them and killed it to end its suffering haha. venison for all!
