my bike from start to finish?

Well Ive posted pics of what my bike looks like now that i think im done with it.
but ill post pics here of what it looked like before and some things ive done to it during the process..

how i bought the bike..after i chopped the tail.

after paint and other small mods...

    homemade seat cowl...

    homemade taillights and directionals..

clubman bars, ducati wing decals, napolean bar end mirrors, 14 t sprocket
dp racing ecu, kn airfilter/open airbox, lowered gauges, dual headlights,
removed emmisions can, dan moto cf exhaust....

sorry for all the pics... my first bike and my first bike project so im kinda proud of how it turned out. never even really liked bikes before i got this one a year ago and now its all i think about!

You've done alot. I particularly like the rear led and the dual headlights. Always been a fan of those headlights. Good work on the seat cowl too- that's impressive.

yeah i painted it...came out kinda shity actually. i was impatient and stuck my finger in the clear a couple spots.....

I had a lot of fun doing it, and total cost for project was under 3,000 including the bike. saved alot by doing it all myself.

i now am thinking of painting it another color and redoing the frame this time. i am thinking black and gold in the same design.

i love the white and red, this bike is gorgeous.

but black and gold is also pretty darn pimp and you don't see it as often compared to the red/white

i'd wait till the snow flies though. enjoy the fruits of your labor more. the best part of the season is upon us and the fall is all a great time of year not to be missed as well.

my first attempt at making anything out of fiberglass, i took my seat and pulled the cover off, took modeling clay and formed it ove rthe back of the seat and made it the shape i wanted (added the little hump, and pointed the tail a bit) i covered it all with tin foil and made it a smooth as possible i the greased the foil with vasaline and just layed the fiberglass over that making sure i worked out any bubbles and pushed the cloth into any grooves. did about 5 layers. then when it was dry i trimmed the edges. to get it smooth i applied a thin layer of fiberglass filler and then sanded that a smooth as possible, i then recoated it with lightwieght body filler, primed, sealed the painted....and thats about it, alittle time consuming but not to bad took me 2 days in all.

Even if you don't go to the track still come on by.... Lots of eating and drinking. Plus we usually burn a building down to the ground.

thanks, that helps. in doing the 5 layers, they were done one right after the other or did you let each dry first?

i dont really remember i think i let them sit up for a little bit between layers but not really sure i was drunk at the time. either way they didnt fully dry between layers as i did it in a night.
