So let the bashing begin.I bought a Harley, and i like it! Its an 05 softail nightrain with some goodys on it, i have had everything else (sportbikes, supermotos) ive tried em all so i figured i would try it i got a good deal so if i want to sell it at least i wont lose my shirt.Nobody would bash Harleys more than me but its comfortable and you dont have to ride it at 100mph to feel like you are moving,i have also put more miles on it in a month than in a year with my sportbike. Not that u guys care but ill post some pics later.Oh and BTW i still have my race bike so u cant bust my balls too much!
Part time expert,part time hooligan
Congrats I think?
Now you can screw fuel economy
I must admit, some HD's are rather nice - did sit on the XR1200 when in the UK last week. V nice, and really needs to get released over here![]()
I'd take a Nightster any day of the week...
I rode a couple at a recent demo day and I can kinda see what people are on about.
If you think of motorcycling like snowsports...a sportbike is like snowboarding, a harley is like XC skiing. you're still out there groovin, just at a different pace, and on equipment with very very different capabilities.
congrats on the new bike either way...now go cut the sleeves off all your tshirts!!

my kids used to "bust" me for the old wing i used to have.....im on a vfr now and love it....BUT i do miss some of the comforts of the wing...like staying almost dry when it rains...the more upright position..and the ability to carry some gear etc.....have fun do your thing
Congrats on the Hawg! Yep, Night Trains are a good looking bike. I rode a new Wide Glide a couple of years ago, (2 day rental) and it was very comfy ergonomically, and the forward controls were great for the highway....
Congrats on a new bike....pics !
Night Train's my favorite!! Post up some pics!!
I will have one...some day...oh yes...it will be mine...
ONE LOVE.
Duct tape is like "The Force". It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
a v-rod or the new Europe only sportster is the only hd i'd consider. while i love the looks of the soft tails i just can't get past the underachieving motor. whatever...congrats man and have fun on it. will you be the only harly rider with a lid on?
Almost did it myself. The Duc dealer in Worcester has a real nice Duece at a nice price.
As a former and future HD owner I can't see why sportbike riders give them such flack. Nor why HD riders give sport risers eh same crap. Its like comparing a Corvette to a Caddy DTS
one built for cruising
One built for speed
Both do what they do well.
Yes i can load up the bags and go two up on my ZX6R and drive 500 miles on it. ts going to hurt in the morning though. On my old WG I'd do it day after day without a cramp
On the flipside I can't see bringing a HD to the track to flog on either.
The proper tool for the job planned and you will always be happy.

And get some Tattoos, get leather pants, handle bar moustache, and a pot belly!
All the best with they Harley! At least slabbing out on the highway for 100's of miles will not send your back for a toss! I do a lot of highway miles too to get to places fast but feel Harleys would do that job better.
