after the first time I got the "quacking duck" hand signal on a group ride, I got obsessive that way, too..

my other fault: letting my weight slide too far back on uphill turns. noticed this coming outta T6 into T7 @ Louden during the trackday. had to forcibly push myself forward to get enough leverage to really crank the bars... gotta work on this some more...

I used to like downhill corners but ever since i went down last week they scare the crap outta me. something about gravity making me accelerate, and having too much weight on the front, scary. right hand corners especially, oh and if it's a blind corner, man those are scary. and if there's a car coming in the opposite lane, damn then i just roll off the throttle and go into cardiac arrest.

    my bad habits?

blinkers.... my yamaha has self cancelling blinkers, and I've been considering getting one of those Kissan Tech thingies for my SV

pre ride check.. one time I rode 30 miles with a flat tire.. I'm getting better at that one

engine braking without a tap on the brakes to turn on the brake lights, I do pay attention to my rearview though

In regard to the blinkers, you could probably goto the local Radio Shack, and for about 5-15 bucks, make your own buzzer for your blinkers. They may beep the whole time they're blinking, but, a much cheaper alternative. Maybe get 2- 12v buzzer's and put one in each front blinker tied into the light itself?

Back on topic... I need to practice slow maneuvers more so I'm more confident at parking lot speed. I can ride the twisties pretty good, just a bit nervous when I pull into a lot full of other motorcyclists and I can't stop makin' mods to the bike

same here, I'll just be riding and I'll hit the blinker cancel button. Then 10min later, still going straight and havn't turned, I'll hit it again "just in case"

Also like RandyO the tapping the brakes to trigger the light when rolling off the throttle. I allways conciously have to remember. The engine braking on the twin is unreal.

and modding It never ends! I even enjoy the maintenance! There isnt' any left to do though Just did brake fluid, cluch fluid, blinker fluid, oil, chain clean, air filters, and spark plugs. Now I've been looking at undertails

Now that I think of it, I find myself tapping the cancel button like you mentioned. I even made a habit of when I take off from a stop, turn or no, I push the cancel button when I catch the green "neutral" light outta the corner of my eye when shifting to 2nd. Just gotta watch I don't hit the horn ( since I modded that with highway blasters and tend to scare the crap outta myself! ) 132 decibels and sounds like a damned semi!

My biggest flaw is not having a bigger bike. It's definitely time for an upgrade.

    Flaws ??? What flaws???

Actually, I have a bad habit of disregarding the yellow lines and pass at will as long as I can see that "marginal safe passing zone"....

Oh yea and taking a double take on women joggers....
