Hey Everyone,
So I'm in the market for a new leather jacket. My only problem is the shops I have been to so far didn't seem to have much of a selection or really any at some. I really want to be able to try it on before buying to ensure a really good fit. Does anyone know of a place in northeast Mass/southern NH that would have a decent selection? Or perhaps a website that has a good size exchange policy![]()

Have you checked Moto Market in Acton?
Top shelf stuff only, no discount brands but the service and
convenience of the place can't be beat.

Awesome customer service and a good return policy. Generally great prices too
Freedom Cycle in Concord usually has a pretty good selection as well.
Motomarket is great but their website sucks...and they know it! I saw Paul last Saturday and he said he thinks the only thing accurate on their website is the Track Day schedule...which IS important!!!
Seacoast is great and the do have a good selection...see Patricia..she rocks!

Also, how much of a protection loss would I be taking if I settled for an armored textile jacket opposed to a leather jacket. The price difference is pretty drastic and I'd like to save money but i'd much rather save my skin.

ooops....you're gonna be sorry you asked that one!
A good quality, armored Textile Jacket can offer nearly as good abrasion protection as a leather jacket. In Europe, street riders wear textile far more than leather. Plus, most of them are waterproof, come with liners, and have good ventalation...(them being the jackets, not European street riders...)
I wear textile on the street about 80% of the time. And I have crashed maybe 3 or 4 times with textile and it has always done its job.
BUT...I'm betting that if you get 30 responses to this question, you'll end up with 60 different opinions!!!!

+1 to Dave, with the caveat that you pay your money and take your choice. I've worn textile that frankly I never ever want to crash test, and textile that I think can really do the job. The price difference between one and the other can be significant.
Personal favorite is my revit ignition - but not cheap, runs about 420 or so. Leather + textile.
Although I am looking to get a clown suit soon, albeit not as eye-bleeding as Daves' one![]()
I'll echo this, I buy almost all my stuff from them.
What I've done is, if I find something I like, I'll buy the size I think I am, and a size up (or down, depending), then figure out which one fits, and return the other.
The only annoyance is repackaging and shipping (and taking a slight loss on the return shipping).
I had found that what I had found at local places (like Freedom Cycle) was decent looking... but ultimately was like 2 times more than what I could find it for online. *shrug*

i have a good textile jacket and a leather jacket, weather usually makes the decision for which ill wear since extreme heat or rain are not the best for a leather jacket.
dont be afraid to go with a good textile
