After I'm done washing the bike, I chamois it. Then I like to put the air nozzle on the compressor and blast it with some air just to make sure I got it all...
DEFINITELY make sure the chain has a decent coating of lube on it after it dries. Don't be like me!![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
When i come in after getting caught in the rain, i usually give it a quick wash. Then air dry it with an electric leaf blower and give the chain a shot of WD40.
Wiping the bike down when you get in from riding in the rain will do more damage to the paint than good. It's not just water on the paint, it's dirt, grit and road grime mixxed in. Wiping it down will just work all that dirt and grit into the paint. It's almost as bad as people cleaning a dirty bike with that fancy Honda polish![]()
