that's par for the course. not long after i started riding, i took my 600 to a dealer b/c it wouldn't start. the service manager looked at my exhaust, and said he knew the problem. i was riding too hard, and he knew that b/c my exhaust was all burned.

i thought he was kidding at first. he wasn't. even after i told him that it was a scorched ti from Micron and SUPPOSED to look like that, he didn't buy it. yeah, he was the service boss.

i feel like this warrants a new thread, 'how dealers/service centers have messed up my bike or been otherwise morons' stories.

i would be pissed if it had lock tight on em. That would suck. id be happy with two bolts off rather then them with lock tight.

Why? I've never had trouble removing any bolts with blue loctite

I use blue loctite on a lot of things, just firms up the hold.

    I'm a little confused, Why wouldn't you add a little protection ?
I use a light duty . Harbor Frieght purple .
I've lost 3 important bolts, 2 subframe,1 engine , and few fairing bolts.
Also had 2 crossthreaded bolts from either the factory or dealer, most likely the dealer since they put on the frame sliders when it was new.
Good idea to get a quality allenwrench set and some locktight . Save yourself the agrivation , Go through your bike and do a once over .

I was a bit aggravated but was calm until I checked all visible bolts and found 90% of them were loose.
Has the bike gone back to the dealer for the 600 mile first service? If not, that is a HUGE part of the money you pay for that service is putting a wrench on all the fasteners. If you skipped that service thinking it wasn't important then you should have put a wrench on everything yourself.

I have barely rolled over 200 miles. Still a few weeks before I will need to do that service as I am just using it to commute to work at this time.

i think it's funny that you think they do something other than change the oil for the first service.

i think the only way your going to have someone "put a wrench on all the fasteners" is to do it your self or have degsy do it.

try Bettencourts in West Bridgewater, MA. sorta close to RI.

current CBR600RR (non ABS) is the lightest of all the 600s and right in line for power with the other 3 japanese 600s.

I know the sandmonster and even though he may be pulling the chain somewhat, he knows his stuff and is probably the fastest most hardcore rider I know off the track. Bad ass adv rider.
