Anyone hear any comments on the wicked expensive lowering seat made by Kawi?
I need to lower a 650R 2009 even after the ninja shop lowering link was installed. Works great and only notice a slight difference in turning radius at low speed.
My sig other is still on her toes. Is it hard and uncomfortable as it is cut down? If she didn't try out the ninja shop sliders on either side already I wouldn't look into it. Luckly no one got hurt and only damaged the slider ends(amazing). Now it has been broken in for my track day!
Experience info appreciated before a plunk down $300.

As a former 650R owner, I can offer two things.
1.) Browse through here: BRP Kawasaki Ninja 650R Forum. That forum will probably come in handy more than a few times.
2.) Contact Gary at BRP (www.blueridgeperformance.net), he should have some pretty useful info for you. Pretty sure he used to do custom work on the seats. If you haven't run across Blue Ridge Performance yet, they specialize in 650R parts. Gary's definitely the man to talk to.
Shave the seat. I do it on all my bikes as I am vertically challenged. Take of the cover, get a large serrated blade knif (Ginsu style) and cut out the foam using even back and forth strokes. Be very careful not to take out any hunks as it will sho on the final product. Take a power sander and finish it off, by smoothing out any imperfections- then refabric with a staple gun.
electric turkey carvers work EXCELLENT on foam

We have been using the lowering seat for a few weeks. It does not lower the full inch as stated. I am considering cutting out some padding. False advertising on Kawi's part and not even labled Kawi on the seat from a second source.
