Guys,
the insurance guy was insane. He comes in late, tells me that my location sucks and that I should stop riding before it kills me. WTF.
Then he proceeds to deny everything I say and ends up giving me a quote for $150!!. I had to spend almost as much just for the gear shift lever(which is broken again!), the last time (Degsy knows). He completely ignores the fact that my handlebar is now bent and that my tank now has a huge dent. And he kept calling the gear shift lever, the brake! I am extremely confused and annoyed as to what to do about this. Please help.
Yikes....if you have a contact at the insurance agency call them and let me know.
Can't you have a dealer provide a quote too?

call your agent and tell them to send someone who's not an anti-motorcyclist asshole.

He doesn't work there anymore.
Call your insurance company. Explain his deficiencies and demand a professional courteous appraiser to come pay you a visit.

He didn't say it when he was right there. He sent me a garbled email saying for any more charges the repair center will have to contact me. I sent out an email to my agent saying that this guy sucks and doesn't know anything about motorcycles and to send someone who actually knows the difference between the gear shift lever and a brake.![]()
Wow that is surprising. I just had to go through my bike getting totaled with them and there were no issues. I was actually shocked that they totaled the bike with the damage that was done. Well they had to after the tow as they damaged a LOT more of the bike swinging it on the back of the truck.
They didn't pay for my aftermarket pipe that I had just put on and was unable to recover but they paid me 11,600 for a bike I paid 9,670 for so I can't complain there.
It took me 2 weeks to get my check and they even paid for the day I missed of work.
an option would be to bring the bike to a dealer or any reputable repair shop and have them write up an estimate for the repairs. If you choose not to have the shop replace/repair the damages then there most likely be a small fee for the estimate depending on how much time they took to look at it. Take the estimate and call the adjuster to get a supplement.
It sucks but not all insurance adjusters are familiar with motorcycles, hell some of them barely know a damn thing about cars. Just remember more times than not it is the adjusters job to nickle and dime you.
