Heres what you need to build that R6
http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...-r6-build.html
Its your first season. Stay away from the fancy stuff like those lever which you will break and be sad about. Just get a fuckton of stock levers. I think parts unlimited sells for like 6 dollars each. Whats the point of the motion pro throttle? Stay stock it wont cost you extra. Dont bother with the block off plates or the exup eliminator yet. I ran three years without that stuff and did just fine. Im also on my third year of the same knee sliders. If you really burn through them you can get them from street and comp at the track. I would also not bother with the small battery yet. Stock stuff will be fine for now.
As far as tank sliders for the R6. They are not all equal. Stay far away from the junk traxxion dynamics puts out. Ive tested them and they are garbage. Spend the extra money on the ETI stuff. They will actually protect your tank.
I dont see case covers on the list. Get those our youll have a sad look on your face when they tell you that you cant race.
Show up with extra parts like handle bars, pegs and levers. A 5 dollar part in your hands can save a day of racing.
What kind do you have?
I have GB Racing case covers already on the bike.

Good info though, thanks. I've seen adrenalinecityracing and traxxiondynamics tank sliders, I'll have to look into the ETI ones.

Hard to see the covers in the photos but you should be all set.
ETI tank guards

On the bike
They have seen the pavement more times then I care to admit. Each time they passed with flying colors. Had a pretty high speed impact coming into 3. They needed a little repair to look good at the end of the day.
This is my results using the traxxion dynamics guards.

Wow, good to know. Do those eti ones need to be bolted to the tank?

Alright, so it looks like the main things on my list should be as follows:
-Suspension refresh @ GMD
-ETI tank sliders
-Tire warmers
-Woodcraft rearsets
-Clip-ons maybe
-Spare parts

$75 is a great deal. I got a used set of chickenhawks for another forum member, absolutely worth it. A good friend of mine runs the suzuka. I wouldn't go buy them new, but when a deal comes knocking and you don't have any, grab that deal up.

If Brian doesn't take them I'd like first dibs? I'm building a second bike and dumping all my money in it and another set of warmers is needed, but hard to find the money for new! If he doesnt take them could you PM me your paypal email?
Miss on you pister, go back off in your own jackyard! No ,I'm dot nyxlesic!!!
I think I'm gonna keep them. I'm gonna spend the money on a steering damper instead of new warmers

See, that took 11 minutes for somebody to say, I'll take em now. Cheap warmers don't come often.

I'm thinking about using up the rest of my street tires(power pures) for the rookie race. After that, I'll probably start w/the michelin DOT'S and see if I like them. I believe I can get them put on at the track no?
The levers are supposed to be "unbreakable", and have a lifetime replacement warranty, that is why I wanted them... .
Fortunately I did spend some good money on gear, and have always used a good Arai helmet. My current Arai is 2008 so I believe it is good for a few more years, although if I can afford it, I'm gonna grab a newer one this season.
Again, I do appreciate all the info.

Sure, but even IF the levers brake, you'll still be left without a lever for the rest of the weekend unless you buy spares...

As for the tires, yep you'll be able to get whatever tires you want mounted at the track. Make sure you have enough time between your RR and first real race to do so though. I might suggest putting the new ones on before the RR to make sure you have enough time.
As for the levers, its personal choice. I never bothered with the fancy ones and just kept spare stockers ($18 or so) around. The only advantage I could see is potentially being able to pick the bike back up and rejoining a race but thats pretty rare they'll let you do that.
One quick caution, anytime something (not just levers) is "unbreakable" it usually means it'll break whatever the hell its mounted to. This is why a lot of race parts are designed to break in a certain spot.
never believe anyone who tells you something like a lever is unbreakable. best way to keep stuff from breaking, don't crash. but if you have the stock levers just bring them with you.

At least if he gets fancy levers he'll have stockers as spares.
