My Joe Rocket suit has worked well, Quality seems good. I would love a new Vanson but it isn't in the cards.
Oh and Brian... You aren't a "Real Racer" until you make Expert at least.![]()

Brian to sum up what everyone is saying, just chill out. we want you to be safe out there and if you're safe then we can be assured of our safety also. And everyone wants you to learn. We all can still learn some stuff, no matter if its rookies like you or me or the Wood brothers or Valentino Rossi. there's always room for improvement. We want you to enjoy racing and at this level there's no reason to have a mortal enemy. Sure you might find someone who is your nemesis on track but in the pits you can still get along. We all just wanna get along. Even doing just track days I've seen at other tracks the vibe just isn't like at Loudon. its rare to have someone not get along with the whole crowd, we don't want you to be that one rare exception.

Fellas. I think we are confused here.
Brian is a confident individual. He doesn't know how to come across any other way. On the net, he sounds cocky and arrogant. Face to Face he is most likely humble and meek, willing to listen and learn.
It is just when a bunch of "keyboard Jockeys" like us get up in his grill without even knowing him or his abilities that he gets defensive.
I mean, what do we know? We have never been in his shoes. He is most likely " Massachusett's fastest". A local legend. Who is to say he isn't going to SMOKE the competition, bump in record time, win Rookie of the year and be an Expert by next year...
I mean if Denno can do it...

This all comes from an lurkers perspective: I def do not have a leg to stand on when it comes to racing BUT I can't help to say that just b/c someone pissed you off on a forum doesnt mean everyone should be punished for it. It seems like you're pissed bc of what someone said to you and your shutting everyone out b/c of it. Your burning your candle from the wrong end!! Lead with an open mind!!
BUT...
With all due respect why are you here if you dont want to listen to ne one?!?! You wont take advice from the PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO HELP YOU but you ask for advice. These people seem to genuinely like you and want to help you!! Like I said lead with an open mind. I feel like Im repeating 99% of what everyone has already said.
Take what people have to say with a grain of salt or realize that another motorcycle enthusiast is trying to share their experiences and wants to help.

OK, just got back from ice racing, and because I'm not on Brains level, I crashed alot. But I wnet there, expected too, and had a great time.
I will be having a good time tonight and/or tommorrow, disecting Brain's tirade, comment by comment, so have some dinner, grab youre reading glasses and prepare for a book. In the meanwhile, we need to put this back where it was.
The bottom line of Brains temper tantrum, me, a guy that hasn't proven himself to brain (I know it's Brian) has no right to give HIM advice, unless it's something he wants to hear, despite him starting a thread, asking for advice. Who the hell am I?Why should he respect me? But damn, we better respect him because despite him having only a few dozen laps, in the rain, on a racetrack, no one should question his talent, cuz hey, he TOLD us he was great! What were we thinking?
No here is the messed up part. I NEVER gave him advice!!! I stated fact, backed by history. I could have never sat on a bike, only been a spectator and told him that if you race it is not a matter of IF you will crash, but WHEN and HOW BAD!!!!!!! Is Brain so much better than every champion to ever ride a bike? They've all crashed.I rode today with my friend Kevin Fogg and we discussed this, he told me he broke his collarbone on his first race weekend. I only even chimed in when he gave everyone the impression that he didn't need the better tank sliders because he wasn't gonna crash. That worried me BIG. No, you shouldn't worry endlessly about crashing, It would make you slow. But you do need to accept is is going to happen and prepare for the outcome. I was trying to give him a reality check because he is a Dad and a Husband. That's why I asked about his job, and insurance. Pretty fukin selfish to not have a plan for his kids SHOULD he crash. In my first post I never talked down to him, nor ever even remotely implied I was better than him because frankly, I don't care.Knowing the chip on his shoulder, I was quite careful to tread lightly and not headbutt his ego. As a matter of fact I debased myself telling him what an idiot rider I was when I was young. But, still his chest puffed up and got his panties in a bunch. I in no way would ever give anyone, especially him, advice that wasn't asked for, but been known to stand in front of a friend on a 4 wheeler so he wouldn't ride without a helmet.
Most of this is comical but gotta tell you all, one thing has had me pissed off all day, and his back peddling only made it worse. When he told me he would do donuts around me and pass me in 1, then claimed it was a joke. That's not shit you joke about!! I gridded with a kid (you'll be racing him Brian) who on his rookie race got taken out by a cowboy like Brian in turn one, first lap, and broke his shoulder, don't believe me, ask Steve at Penguin when you do your rookie race. And let me tell you, Steve will not give you your license if you ride like an asshole, yes, they can do that. They have to be sure you are not a danger to others. For that comment you stepped over the line into true Douchedom, and for that you owe all of us who may share the track with you an apology. I mean it.And you owe me one for talking trash to a guy that was looking out for your safety, and the good of your family. Man up, stop being an unrealistic egotistic punk, and make this right

Miss on you pister, go back off in your own jackyard! No ,I'm dot nyxlesic!!!
LOL, before I forget, no offense meant with the "Joe rocket" line. I was refering to the kids that buy the new 600, get the matching superblingy coat with lotsa writing, An Icon helmet with spoilers..................., you know posers who think Fast and Furious was realistic. Now Brain, don't get those panties waded, never said that was you, said beating those guys does not a fast racer make.

All I'm gonna say is Brian, you should probably spend the first $40 on a new seat.
.....Just saying.....

Speaking of crashing your first weekend. I had a crash almost as epic as this thread my first weekend. It was 2nd practice before my rookie race. I nice easy highside in t4. We ended up having a secret vote and I got on someone else bike to do my rookie race. Also had a borrow helmet.
I turned this...
Into this...

Goddamnit I'm going to have to take the Friday off before the first race weekend. Who's bringing a microwave, cause I will bring some popcorn to this show.
Edit: wonder what its going to do to his ego when he figures out that Shane, MM, and a few other guys are going faster on dirtbikes than he is on his R6?

My primary nemesis on the track all last year was also a very good friend. For all the shit talking we do, we get along really well and hang out in the pits. It makes the challenge on the track all that much more fun. Before that, year before last, I think I had 1 psuedo-nemesis, at least someone I shit talked with. We ended up swapping paint, but to this day are very good friends.
I guess what I'm getting at is you WILL have someone, or a couple people, you're cutthroat competitive, fighting for tenths with. It's even more fun if that person is your friend.
Doc still hasn't been let in on the fact that that was all a big gag on him, and now that they pressured him into bumping to EX even pre-novices are considered almost racers, and once you've done your rookie race you're a full blown racer. He'll catch on eventually, but it's fun in the mean time
I'd worry he would read this, but I'm only an AM and we all know you shouldn't waste your time listening to anyone that's not an expert.
