In the financial district!!!!!!!!
not in some ghetto back street corner.
I checked on the bike at 1 and by 5 it was GONE.
freaking A! my first bike too. WTF
its an 03 honda CBR f4i
I had my steering lock on.
i filed a police report and theres literally a camera on almost EVERY building in boston, considering it was stolen in broad daylight it shouldnt be too hard to see something pop up on one of the cameras.
its an F4i with a yoshimura exhaust
there is a small tear in the passenger seat and the bike has a few scuffs on the tail, it also has an HID kit.
help me bring my baby home!![]()
im assuming it wasnt towed as the police took a report... that sucks
I remember watching a vid of a few guys jack a bike on a busy street during the day. They pulled up along side of it in a van, grabbed it and were gone within 30 seconds. That sucks, man. Hope they find it.
That sucks man, good luck.
that sucks out of all the places in Boston thats the last place id expect it to get stolen..

Damn. That really sucks. I think I remember your intro thread earlier this summer - we never got to ride. Hope you get your bike back, or new wheels, soon.
no bikes currently
That's really rotten, sorry to hear about it, I lost a bike once ... rotten feeling.
And don't believe everything you think.
This sucks! nice CBR too. Hope they find it.
If/when I get another bike I'll make sure that this doesn't happen again.
I wont have an alarm, no steering lock, no brake lock, nothing.
I'll just have a simple device that when I push the button the bike explodes, leveling the warehouse that Its being stored at to strip its parts.
did you have theft insurance?? i had a friend a few years back that had his bike stolen from out in front of the pru. he told me the cops told him there is a serious problem with people stealing bikes cuz they are easy to take. hopefully you had full coverage if not well hopefully youll learn
sorry. i'll have lojack and this device.
so i can find the bike, sit outside, crack a beer, then press the button.
Wow, I visit in Roxbury/South End and always park/ride through there.
I also carry full insurance -- on a 650R it's only $450 a year; I bought it $1K under blue book so if someone steals it I'm like sure, take that MF and I'll buy another one in Florida all tricked out for the same $1K under blue book and use the loot to pay for a vacation.
I hope the videos catch something.
Try going there and looking at all the video cameras you can find and start asking around for the videos to the management companies. You will end up doing the police homework and they will probably not give you any video directly but if you can point the po-po to a quick subpoena maybe something will turn up.
Keep me/us posted on your progress and good luck.

Man, that sucks.. It just seems like a lot of effort and risk to grab a 6 year old bike. It ain't like they're gonna go draw title on it, so what's the value, parts? The engine? There's no "BikeFax" to record stolen VINs? Doesn't sound like the authorities are doing much to protect owner's interest here.
Aren't the insurance companies interested? Yeah, I buy replacement value comprehensive and theft, but what about the insurance companies? Don't they want a stop put to some of this? Seems like if insurance, the cops, the DMV/RMV folks got together to build a network of stolen VINs and then require dealers, mechanics and owners to refer to that net and report stolen bikes, parts and engines on pain of prosecution, it would become pointless to steal bikes. Or at least pointless to buy the parts. Make it a crime to traffic in parts with no VIN.
Hey, they got a million ways to track US, why not our stolen property?

Sorry to hear Rich, I hope insurance covers it for you.
On another note, if you had a bomb wired to the bike that was remotely triggered with a cell phone, what are the chances a telemarketer would eventually call that number while you're riding?

Sorry to hear man! With bikes like that there are only so much security measures you can take, especially when a couple guys could lift it right into the back of a van without the wheels ever turning.
Yea I saw that video a while back. It simply shows that steering locks, and disk brake locks, and even alarms in my opinion don't to crap. Two guys can easily pick the bike up and throw it in a van within 30 seconds. All you can do is have good insurance on the bike.
Wow...that vid is crazy. People are pretty ballsy! Good thing I have theft on my insurance.
Man.....that sucks. Sorry to hear.
And my friends wonder why I refuse to leave my bike sitting out anywhere in Worcester/Boston/Lowell/several cities I spend a lot of time in.
One girl in Worcester gets ticked because I won't leave my bike at her house when we go out somewhere (shes to scared to ride on the back so we take 2 vehicles) because I have no where to even try to hide the bike at her house and I'm not about to leave it on the street.
Sucks to hear man, I hope you find something or your insurance picks up the tab. Best of luck.
