I woke up this morn around 3am to find my R6 laying on its side on the side of the road in front of my house! Appears that some scumbag tried to run off w/it until they realized the steering was locked. There are some small scratches, but only on the frame slider, mirror, case guard, and rearset peg. Mofo's are gonna pay if I can find em!
Just wondering, when a bike lays on its side for a few hours, is it okay to ride it afterward? Obviously I'm gonna check the oil, but is there anything else that I should look for? I have to go to work in a few hours.

While at college I came out numerous times to find my bike on it's side(unfortunately with more damage than you experienced). I had trouble starting at first due to flooded carbs, however I would think that with a FI bike such as yours you will not have the same issue I did. I'd stand it up and leave it for a few just to let everything settle but you should be ok.
Pull all the plugs and turn it over a few times..just in case some oil or gas got into the cylinders....don't want to hydroloc that eng.

Are there any tip-over sensors on the bike?
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Brett, I know that was you trying to stop me from racing next weekend!! You and your damn plans can't come between me and my destiny of Novice Domination!!... btw, the mirror is so I can make sure I look so damn good for my track pics...
Well, I let her sit for a few, checked the oil, fired right up and no smoke or anything. I rode to and from work and everything is cool, just a couple scratches which are barely noticeable.
and... on my way to work, I noticed a cop in the hood and went over to tell him what happened... he was taking info from a guy who had his car broken into and his wallet stolen last night. These hoods have done that shit before, and I've woken up to find my wife's car door wide open, then looked down the street and saw a couple neighbor's cars w/their doors open... got to be the same punk(s). Too bad, like has been mentioned, too many protections for criminals for me to bother figuring out who did it. I may just camp out and blast em w/my airsoft gun that shoots 400fps just for the fun of it... but then again that's probably a/b w/dangerous weapon. Guess I'll just have to step up the security, but the funny thing is that I usually keep the bike at my shop where I work... it's only been in my driveway for this week. Anyway, thanks for the sympathy!

2 DIFFERENT locks is the way to go. thieves usually come prepared for 1 lock (ie: chain, disclock, cable) if you throw a disc lock on it and a cable or chain on it too, it should discourage a repeat attempt.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Thanks, but I've been meaning to put up a shed/mini-motorcycle garage for a while now... I'm gonna do it now and put some good secure doors and locks on it.
