My ever-faithful '86 VFR700F2 was hit by a neighbor while over a friends house Saturday. Due to her continuing backward after hitting the bike, it's looking like it'll be a total. I have yet to receive the final verdict from the insurance company, but my inspection of the bike and research on replacement parts leads me to believe that they will total it. Seems like this will be the end for my Viffer.
BUT; due to my insurance companies appraisal system, and the fact that my bike is a "classic" by MA law, it's looking like I will get more than enough to replace it (or upgrade, depending on how you look at it.).
So, anyone got a nice CBR900RR for sale?![]()

Dozy bitch kept going after hitting it? Lucky no-one was on it at the time.
Hey, it's worth a try?I have always wanted to ride a 900rr myself, but never got a chance to.
The more I look at the bike, the more damage I find. Funny how much damage can be done by simply backing into it.

Damn, loved those old gear driven cam VFR's. Takes me back to the mid 80's and being a 20 something.

Nah, it takes a lot of pressure to get me angry. I'm a pretty calm person.
The appraiser says it's almost definitely totaled. There was a small dent on the frame from a rock it fell on, so he put down that it needs a frame as well. I don't think the dent is a big deal, but he put it down anyway. I'm gonna keep the VFR anyway, eventually I'll get it put back in order.
The list he made included:
left and right engine covers
right drivers peg
right drivers peg bracket
radiator
cowl
cowl mounts
front brake lever
front left directional stalk
front and rear right directionals
rear right directional stalk
frame
right bar end
He also noted that the engine may need to be inspected by a mechanic (engines don't cope well with being tipped on their side).
Soooo, pretty much a new bike. lol

Just an update; I reached an agreement with the insurance company. But after some thinking I'm going to put the money towards a car, so for a little while it looks like I'll be without a bike. At least until I sell my gas hog of a truck.
