Haven`t seen the video and I probably won`t. Everyone of us has made a mistake or two while riding and got away with it and hopefully with a lesson learned. When you ride on the edge a mistake or small miscalculation or outright dumb move will probably cost someone their life. This guy in the vid will not learn a thing from this. Hopefully someone did. Maybe his four kids?RIP
It appears to be England so 170 is 170 though I only saw like 160 on a speedo
1 of the main reasons is shenanigans on a crouded expressway. I recall some trips down 91 after the berkshires where we were doing that stuff...we bad

My friend lives in DC and he just posted some retarded video of him and a friend hitting speeds of 183....in the break-down; splitting cars at 150. I told him he needs to knock that shit off before his kids don't have a father. Those videos seriously scared the shit out of me!
This is the link to the vid that he posted. Sorry, don't know how to import it.
At 9:10 watch fro the black Malibu.

that's rough, crappy situation.
I watch these things too to remind me to try to take it easy on the streets.

I watched it. nothing compared to the guy on a scooter who got dragged under the wheels of a dump truck. now THAT was messy. these kinds of things are good to see every once in a while. sobering.
That's bullshit to try blaming the caged driver. That bike was coming up way too fast for the driver to even see it.
edit: Actually, watching the vid again.. not sure why that car moved to the right.. the car would have had no chance to overtake the car in front with that oncoming traffic.

170 yeah thats fast. i haven't hit that yet on the zx10. maybe i'll try it.. on open road of course. might hit animal then tree then then... oo! nvm!
"fuckit!"
Read the article and watched the video. I have seen multiple videos/ real life situations where cars move out like that to bikes/bicycles. They are both at fault, just the motorcyclist paid for it with his life.
Whats your fastest on roads Gixer made 177 indicated then I ran out of road

There would be a difference; in that case the car is intentionally looking to disrupt the path of the motorcycle. I'm not saying necessarily in this case...but I agree w/ Bump909 that it appears the car couldn't have made a pass and that it does look suspiciously like a blocking move. But maybe car was trying to get a look @ the pass. Who knows, sucks all around. Lawyers will have a field day as usual.
I'm happy I don't have to push it to those extremes to have fun on 2 wheels, but that doesn't mean its not dangerous. It is a very good example of why you really have to watch out for another passer when overtaking more than 1 vehicle at a time. I'm sure many can associate with that type of pass, if not as aggressive.
Most cars you probably couldn't see the bike coming up that fast due to the blind spot.
In any case only a super vigilant driver (maybe one who rode?) would be aware enough to have seen them coming up in the rear view mirror like a bunch of retards.
A lot of us might have seen them, immediately recognized them as retards, and got real cautious and keep the car very stead.
But most drivers are not like that, no one should be expected to be able to make moves to preserve the safety of people doing 2-3x the speed limit and otherwise riding/driving erratically..
No way I believe any law/court would blame that car driver. I would certainly vote to acquit if I was on a jury in a case like that with that kind of video evidence.
It seems like it is also really, really hard for any of us to accurately judge what the driver was doing and whether or not he had any room when the frame of reference is a bike that is moving way faster then all the car. You watch these idiot videos and the cars all look stationary.. the spaces between the cars look a lot bigger @55 then they do at 100.
