'87 XLH Sportster..My first street bike bought in '91 and quickly split the cases and bored and stroked it to 1500cc.What a piece of JUNK.

'88 KX250 bought new in '88.. WOW,the coolest dirtbike..OOOFFFF.
'82 IT175 for a very short time.
'73 Hodaka Combat/Wombat used in '81 as a pair for $400. for one summer.Blew up both motors,but it was fun in the Fall River reservation.

'78 GT80,my first bike.My parents bought it new.
'75 BMW R90/6 which of course i still have.I just mention because i remember my father taking delivery back in '75.And can you believe he GAVE the '73 Commando away to my brother for it????

Can't give ya crap in hindsight. (although personally I think your nuts! ) Can only give advice to noobs.

I feel liek a hypocrite telling a current friend who just asked me "Should I get a new sv650 or a gsxr1000" to get the 650, and I know this is falling on deaf ears, but basically......


I snowmobilled aggressively for maybe 10 years, rode 4-wheelers and dirtbikes, etc, so feel comfortable (I jumped a 1996 Polaris XLT special 120' on film)

Mom hates bikes, she was 19 her bro was 18 and he died on a bike. So as soon As I was done college I was gonna buy a bike, friend was gonna work in Indiana for a year so He said if I registered and insured his 1992 CBR900rr I could ride that for the summer. that was my first bike. I put maybe 6k miles on it that summer.

So when I went to buy a bike I looked for another cbr900rr, like a 95-96, cause I loved them.

Found one though DGM cycles wrecked, but it was too wrecked, but they also had an RC51, kid in college had one and I always turned my head when I heard it. So I checked it out. But everybody and their brother INSISTED NOT to get a bike with a salvage title. 2002 with 3k mies bone stock for $5500. So I backed out, and found a beat but modded, but clear titles 03 rc with 16k miles, for $5,500 and bought it.

Got my license tonight

Fucking LOVE the bike. WHat they say is true, its heavy, twitchy, the seat is hard, its slower than a comparable bike, but theres something about it. Its just my baby.
