I have a whole Vanson black leather stealth track suit.
I didn't want LEO's to think I was a menace
Glen Beck is John the Baptist
Interesting...........
I answered honestly but noted that I ride a sportbike and have a jacket, among all my other gear, for safety. I don't rock a black jacket to feel badass...that's what the bike's for.I chose black jackets cuz they are low key/not flashy and can go with any bike I have.

I've seen some ridicule 'round the forums with corresponding pics and didn't want to be labeled "King of the 80's" either.![]()
Wasn't looking to be a billboard for Mexican beer, a particular manufacturer, etc. I ride a Kawi and left the stickers on it (so far)...and put their friggin' label in my signature!!!![]()
Duct tape is like "The Force". It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
I wear an Aerostich one-piece.
i have an all black vanson. when i bought it i rode a candy lime green kawasaki. i figured if i bought green gear than traded the kawasaki in down the line i'd have to buy all new gear. i bought black, it matchs everything.
black a-stars leather. Love it. Again, bought it because it's not flashy and I don't feel like a complete fool walking around campus in it when I ride to class. Also, black goes with anything as already stated. When I bought it I had a red R1, now I have a black R1, looks fine with either bike. Definitely did NOT buy it because I thought the color black is "badass." although... a-stars is badass imo![]()
Agree with above...
Not a big fan of the survey, like THE BLACK Leather Jacket defines you as a rider????
I said about the same as ya'll.
Black is def. easier though when you switch brands...dont have to look a fool with a yellow jacket and a green bike (like me yesterday!)

I think the survey was meant more for cruiser type riders. We may be skewing it.

I wear black simply because I never keep a bike very long and they match everything....
I wonder if Cathrine Leanord has anything to do with this. The Ivory Garage

Me: "Normal people wouldn't do this."
Peter: "First you have to operationalize with normal is."
Is this more black... or grey?

Since I bought my leather jacket I get
laid at least five more times a week:
seriously....i wear it around the house
black leather is for hardley wannabe's
black leather only protects you if you crash
colorful leather is more visible and likely to prevent the crash to begin with
imho a high vis tee shirt can be more protective than black leather cause it gets you seen

+1 Doc. Last week I had to ride on Quantico to get to the Marine Shop. Stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods to pick up a neon mesh vest to fit over my jacket. Took the vest out of the wrap, and it looks like something the utility man from the Village People would wearI may invest in that icon military vest in the future when I'm stationed there this summer.
I like to think loud exhaust, high pitched motorcycle horns, lights, and positioning within the lane where people are most likely to see me covers my ass enough on the 'visibility' side of things.
Let me get this straight....
We bark at those who don't wear 'all gear all the time'...but now we should take care to not wear black gear?
We complain about Harley riders if they don't wave to those of us on a sportbike because two wheels are two wheels afterall, and style is merely a choice....but we disrespect them in return by not learning to spell 'Harley' or seeing their color choice in leather as less adequate than ours.
I really love alot of you guys....but this site really getting hypocritical...oh sorry I meant...confusing.![]()
