    Blessing In Disguise? Hmmm

So I uncover my bike yesterday only to have the cover get stuck in a place it doesn't usually get stuck in... A little confused, not worried, I walk over to the exhaust and find that the mounting bracket is cracked. One of the bolts is missing from the midpipe and the clamp bolt to the headers was loose as well. Someone must have tried to steel the pipe and not have had the right size allen key to take off the right side rear peg where the bracket was so they must have tried to muscle it off... The carbon fiber is all scratched up, theres a pretty big gash in the upper pipe, and I'm not too sure when it all happened because I haven't been riding as much as I'd like lately. The fairing has a burn mark from where the midpipe was loose and rubbing as well. This blows. If I had to bet probably happened my last trip up to Philly last weekend.

Heres the blessing part, I had to get somewhere yesterday, don't have a car, so I took the pipe off and ran straight out of the headers. HOOOOLLLY SHIT. I'm in love. It sounds like a cool harley at 14k rpms. It's relatively mild up until around 3.8-4k and then all hell brakes loose. Downshifts sound amazing, hammering through the gears is more fun than hammering my girlfriend, and pinging the rev limiter is unworldly. I'm going to get one of the guys at the machine shop here to fab a small pipe like the Jardine GP-1 or something for my bike so I can say that there is actually an exhaust on there, but for now, HELL YA.

PS: anyone want a devil shotgun highmount? I'll call the insurance agent tonight and see what they give me, then from there I'll post up a price for the pipe.

I'm slowly but surely coming to that same conclusion. It's really too bad. Shit happens I guess.

Funny story actually. The time before the last time I saw her, it ended with an iron being thrown at my head. This last time was a lot of fun mad make up sex. But besides for that, the bike is much more fun haha. You should hear this thing going under bridges and stuff. People in cars next to me piss themselves.

Looks like he is from MD, don't know what they're like down here. I would NEVER think to run straight pipes up here on my bike, unless I planned on spending a least a night in the clink.

Yeah, lemme tell ya, the general public just LOVES open headers on a sportbike.

Glad I don't have to listen to it.

I heard something was up with the backpressure valve when you run them open but I figure I can just retune... I've also heard this is BS. I guess I'll find out soon enough. I'm in the boonies in MD, no cops.
