Always loved this bike and that’s a great color.
Dying to know what you think.
And how it compares to what else you’ve owned. What else have you ridden?
Can't wait to actually get a chance to ride it. Last bike was a 99 Superhawk, before that an 01 SV650S. Going to be interesting to feel the difference between carbs and injection.
Nice Ride,,, good read here https://www.cycleworld.com/sport-rider/suzuki-sv1000/
I love this site for reviews

Attaboy Justie!
Looks clean and unmolested.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Still miss mine. Congrats!

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
It's as if they only made them in that color.

First you screw, then you bolt.
I wonder how it compares to the Superhawk you had. For some reason, it seems the superhawks were more powerful. Their biggest drawback in the US were the small tank (16 liters) which later was fixed on the European models (19l). The SV1000S should have a much better range with a bigger tank and better fuel economy
From my recollection of being a TL1000S (predecessor to the SV1000S) owner and having ridden a Superhawk, the Superhawk seemed to make power/torque lower in the RPM range which made it a phenomenal street bike as you could drive it like a tractor leaving it in one gear and controlling speed with RPM. The TLS would make a higher measured power and though it had pretty good torque numbers as well wanted to be ridden in a more spirited fashion. A few more RPM were needed to get things moving. Still a great, fun bike to ride on the street but just a little higher strung. Wonder if anyone that has ridden both will agree or have a different opinion from mine?
I still have my TLS and should probably do some maintenance on it and get it out of the garage for some miles this summer.

I LOVED the Superhawk, it was nimble. Racya's TLS seemed heavy and just a wee bit scary. I'm hoping to get a lot of seat time in this summer.

TLS with a stock spring on a stick and rotary damper can be scary...

rode both a Hawk and a TLR … Both are great bikes I love twins! Found the Hawk a better street bike but the TLR was funner! Standard TL is better looking then the SV!
No it was not by any means! Just softer more relaxed motorcycle also the ergos were almost spot on for me as least for a street scoot . The Suzuki was just x2 and had more giddy up when spun!

I miss the hell out of my 03 SV100s. upgraded to that from a SV550s and loved every minute of it. Sadly it got stolen.
