I picked a little compressor up for $15 on Saturday and realize it could probably fit in some of the bike trunks out there... Any of you overachievers installed one of these yet??![]()

Q. For what? Being f*ckin' awesome?!
RandyO has a lil' compressor that he keeps in his saddle bags....Its Not "hard wired" but he does have a ""quick connect"
Honda (RC26) VFR700
"hey Randy, do a wheelie!!"
Mr. R7 had one mounted in an R1 for an air shifter. Don't think it'd fit in the trunk of his '04 R1 though.

That must be nice, especially on long trips.
I learned the value of a compressor and tire plug kit after getting stranded with a flat on Saturday. It's got me thinking about being more prepared, while I walked home cursing my tire and dead cell phone.
I had a hunch someone on here had already rigged something up!

Yep, i had it in a 98 R1, then reused it again in a 99R1. I think the brand i had was MRE and it fit in the trunk of my R1 perfectly. I had always thought about adding an extra fitting so i could add air to the tires but i never got around to it. It had no troubles pumping the small air tank i had on the bike up to 130psi.
It'll fit in the new R1's trunk as long as you don't mind removing that little X bracket![]()

I can't find the link, but basically the guy bought a $15 Campbell Hausfeld mini air compressor from Wal mart and cracked open the case.
By the time he was down to the pump gauge and cord, it was so small he could mount it inside his frame rails under the seat and jump to the battery to pump up a flat.
Kinda cool.
A DIY for $20 cheap.

When you buy your tire plug kit, get the BMW kit that they make for their bikes... Best damn tire plug kit out there, you'll see why when you take a look at one.Originally posted by RedRider

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
I was pretty impressed w/ stoinky's Stop 'n' Go kit last year, better than my Progressive kit by far. now that they make an even smaller version, I've got one always in my tank bag...![]()

Since I ride more than one bike, my cheapo compressor stays in my tank bag. I have it rigged to plug into my electric jacket outlets. Only used it once on one of my bikes but have fixed quite a few flats for other folks.
Does it look like this?Originally posted by Suf Daddy

It could be the 4077 one without the plastic around it.
When I find the link I'll send it. Its the compressor guts only.

I just picked up a 12V cordless comp at Ocean State Job Lot for 25.00. Just charge it up and throw it in the tankbag and you got air on tap. One charge should fill up about 3 bike tires after you plug the hole of course.
Chris, thanks for the tip! That question was also lingering in my mind. My current plug should hold well enough to get me to a tire change, but it still has a slow leak. When you buy your tire plug kit, get the BMW kit that they make for their bikes... But I'll add the BMW plug to my road repair kit... Leave it to those crafty Germans!!
