    new boots

I've been shopping for a pair of Sidi Vortice Air boots to replace my beat up Sidi's.

I stumbled across this random site: Motorcycle Clothing from Rukka, Stadler, Held, Alpinestars, IXS, Daytona and Dainese - SIDI Vortice

I picked up a new pair of booties for $330 shipped, and used PayPal.

    boom shaka laka

There are a lot of folks on adv rider saying they have used the site with good results. I may try as well. Have you received the boots yet?

    Re: new boots

I recently bought a track suit from there, prices are crazy low. My package was held up in customs for over a week, during which time I thought I may have been scammed (forgot about the customs step of the process), but I got it 2 weeks after I ordered. Very satisfied.

I also almost bought a used suit for about what I paid for this new one. Have no idea how they sell for as low as they do compared to US distributors; shipping a track suit to the US from Germany cost about $20. I can't ship it domestically for that.

Do you need to pay VAT?

I ended up having to pay FedEx 30 bucks to import some Alpinestars boots from Italy. I wasn't happy.

    Re: new boots

    not sure Pete.
I'm expecting a delay in shipping.
I still have my old boots that i'll use until then, and then turn them into spare/rain boots.

either way, it's a good deal if you guys are shopping.

If it's to good to be true, these could be chinese knockoffs? In europe people buy enough moto gear that there is actually a knock off industry. Buyer beware.

Why didn't you go with the Mag 1's?

I tried on the Vortice and the Mag 1's side by side and couldn't believe the difference.

I wondered about that too before I received it, but the obvious high quality of the Dainese suit I bought appears to be Dainese, either that or the Chinese have *really* stepped up their game.

I bought a pair of dualsport boots from Motorrad Helme, Motorradbekleidung, Jet Helme und Cross Helme im motoin Marken-Shop over the winter. No VAT, shipping only $17. Make sure you choose DHL shipping, otherwise you may get hit with an import tax.

I'm going to bookmark biker-land.de their prices are great but the selection is pretty bad. I've also been eying some gear at Online motorcycle shop, buy online motorcycle equipment. they have a little more depth. Ordering internationally is really easy if you can wait a couple of weeks and with the strong dollar / weak euro it's a great time to take advantage.

    Re: new boots

I've had my Vortices airs for almost 5 years now and they've held up awesome. A stars SupertechR are a bit more comfortable though. After my last pair of A star boots, I wouldn't chance ordering them overseas though. My foot measures a 10, and my SupertechR's are a size 8 and fit me perfectly...SiDi Vortices are size 10 as well.

Question, what is normal shipping time on a package from Europe, to the US? I bought some items from Spain on March 26th, they shipped with tracking number on the 27th, tracking shows in transit on the 28th...and that was the last update, still no package

My package from Germany took 15 days. Like yours, tracking showed "in transit" for almost a week and a half. I think it just depends on how fast it clears customs - the "shipping" part was quick, the customs part was not.

Yeah, next friday will be a month, not really sure it's reasonable. It's an ebay item, so I at least have until next friday to report it not received...which looks to be the case. Still no activity on tracking

    I'm confused. 349.eu is the price I see. That's about $375 USD.
    Am I missing something?

Yes. There is a dropdown that lets you change your region to non EU and another one for currency. Then it shows the prices Jim is talking about. I thought the same thing at first.

Jim, did you get the boots yet?

Ah. Sales tax is included in the advertised price. I have been in the US so long I forgot civilized countries do that.
