    Opinion on Kevlar lines

Have any of you folks running Kevlar front lines noticed a big performance difference from the braided steel lines?

    Opinion on Kevlar lines

Just nailed a set on ebay, Jay. Blue lines w/red anodized nips. It was actually LP selling them. They were clearing out inventory. $62 + 10 shipping. Not bad for $120 lines. They should go very nice with the full floating Brembo rotors I picked up. Doing a complete overhaul on braking system this winter. Should be stopping like a superbike next season. Thinking of going w/perf. friction pads too.

    Brake lines non DOT etc......

Not sure about the type of line etc., but steel braided and Kevlar etc if not DOT approved need frequent inspections. Whether its poor construction, fatigue or material deterioration, several non DOT lines have ruptured, most at the crimped ends, like this one (from a car this August track event).

As I recall, the lines feel like they're hard plastic tubes with limited flexibility. Granted these could have been on the bike for years for all I know, but should brake lines really simply burst like that?
