Yes. Beyond the simple wave we all give one another; there's a true brotherhood to be had. We're not all simply a group of enthusiasts but a family. You get those of us who love the comradery of a shared experience, and also those of us who love the competition and hazing aspect. The 'willy-waving' contests and stupid things we do all root back to childhood when your big brother would bet you he could jump over the wheelbarrow and you couldn't. There's a strange love/respect that comes with owning a motorcycle.

Put simply, Yes. Now, I love the sound of a Harley, and have ridden many in my short 2 years being a licensed motorcycle rider; however, the appeal of a Harley is far over-shadowed by "the Image". Someone buys a Harley for 1 of 2 reasons. 1. They want feel like a bad-ass. They need the rumble and the familiarity of a Harley Davidson to feel like they belong to the biker community. 2. Someone in their family owned one and that's their true vision of a 'Motorcycle'. Harley guys won't give a guy on a CBR600RR a second look... to them, that I4 sound and hunched over position makes everyone look the same... a helmet on a slab of plastic. Conversely, they ride in open-face helmets on exposed slabs of iron and exhaust. The truth of the matter is it's all down to personal preference... Some people think making a big noise and going slow makes you a man... others think being invisible and going 180mph makes you a man... Whatever floats your boat, but there's definitely a difference.
